Just a little background about me. I had open RNY on April 2, 2007. I lost 95 pounds in the first six months and now keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds for the past almost 6 months. This has been a really discouraging journey, but I'm hoping to turn things around really soon. I go see my doctor 1 day before my 1 year mark to try and see what is going on. I already had an UGI series done and hopefully will be scheduled for an EGD to check the size of my pouch and stoma to see if something is wrong there.
I would love more than anything to be able to have a revision to the Duodenal Switch. I doubt that dream will ever come true for me because I've had so many abdominal surgeries and because I don't think insurance will cover it. I'm still not giving up. I would love to lose at least another 50-60 pounds if not all of my excess weight which is a little over 100 pounds.
Right now all I can do is hope and pray.
