Another Obstacle Overcome

Today I had my gallbladder removed, which according to the doctor, was really bad. He also did an EGD and found a stricture which he repaired. Now hopefully I can eat food without it coming back up again. I can't wait to get back on the road to recovery.

The only drawback today was that I was told to be at the hospital (which is three hours away) at 11:00 am. Once we were there, we overheard that the doctor was not due in until 2:30 pm and he had four patients scheduled for surgery. Well, the doctor finally arrived at 4:00 pm and I was in recovery at 6:30. They went ahead and kept me for the night which was a good news/bad news thing for me. The good news was that I wouldn't have to endure the three hour ride home and my 19yr old daughter wouldn't be driving until midnight (after leaving the house at 7am). The bad news was that my 16yr old son is also with us and he is going to miss another day of school tomorrow. Oh, other bad news is that my dogs are inside my house and no one has let them out all day. I asked my sister to go by and let them out and she couldn't get to it tonight....ugh! I can only imagine what my house will smell like tomorrow when I get home. Pew-wee.
