Upper GI

Apr 26, 2011

I had my follow up UGI as recommended by Dr. Aceves this morning. It went beautifuly! I have THE most perfectly shaped sleever EVER! The radiologist was very impressed. I have a CD but can't get it to operate on my MAC. I'll have to try it on my business laptop later. Can't wait to show her off.

On another note, it's "that time" of the month again and I was craving popcorn. Wrong move. Sleeve don't do popcorn!

8 weeks / 08Apr2011 157.8

Apr 08, 2011

No weight lost this week. Not even .1 lb. That's okay though. I'm doing all the right things (for the most part) and hitting the gym hard. I also lost almost 5 lbs last week. Can't complain although it was a personal goal to hit 30 lbs gone today but I fell 1 lb short. I owe pics. Nothing much exciting going on around here, really. I'm starting to get into some of my old 12's. That's pretty exciting. Otherwise, life is pretty much back to normal. I have learned that sleeve is NOT fond of chinese. I tried PF Chang's and Pei Wei and both instances, it just came right back up. No nausea, just a feeling that it wasn't going to fly so I stand over the toilet and up it comes. Not a bad "sick" at all. Just a firm message from the little one that she will not be tolerating that mess!

6 weeks / 25Mar2011 Travel

Mar 25, 2011

I went back to work this week and I have been (mentally) exhausted. I do quite a bit of travel in my line of work and I had two trips planned. I was in Columbus, OH Wed and New York today. It's been quite strange. Now that I'm back in my element, I've found that my brain thinks it can still eat like it used to. Tuesday was esp bad for head hunger. I'm not sure if it was the PMS aspect, the travel (habit) or just stress, but I spent about $45 on food I thought I was going to eat but couldn't. This is a whole new adjustment. I need to find new things to do while I'm on the road besides eat. Mistake number one was not packing my gym clothes. Mistake number 2: not hitting the grocery store for travel safe foods. The shakes are just a PITA to me while traveling as I have no way to keep my almond breeze cold and it just tastes funny with milk.  Lessons learned. It looks like a get another chance. I'm in Indianapolis next week so let's see if I can pull myself together. I have some food pics for ya'll but it's on my phone and I can't connect it to my work laptop. Later....

34 days / 17Mar2011 166.2!

That was a pleasant surprise this morning. On the other hand, it appears I have a stitch exposed from the left outermost incision. Is this possible?

33 days / 16Mar2011 Could this stall be breaking?

Mar 15, 2011

Is it possible? 168 this morning. I've been losing VERY slowly the last couple of weeks. I increased my water intake yesterday. I was forced to in a sense because I did Step class and couldn't get enough water. It's so hard to start back to the gym. I think if I could just remember how hard it is to start back, maybe I would never stop. It's been over a year and I can't believe how much I regressed in that time. I can barely keep up with the class. Oh well. All I can do is hang in there for now.

1 month post op / 11Mar2011 Hello 160's!

Mar 10, 2011

I am officially in the 160's today. A total of 2.4 lbs lost this week. Hopefully I'll be moving out of this stall this week. I joined the gym earlier this week and trying to really take it easy. I did Body Combat Wed and it kicked my ass! I slept until 11:30 the next day and am still sore in my upper body. Going to try Zumba this morning. Sounds like fun.

As far as intake goes, I'm doing about 2 shakes a day and a couple servings of pretty soft foods about 2x/day. I doubt I'm getting all my protein in but I'm just not hungry. One more week before I return to work. I am actually ready. I'm getting a little bored and ready for real life to resume so I can see how this sleeve figures in to my normal travel routine. That should get interesting.

24 Days Post Op / 07Mar2011

Mar 07, 2011

Woo hoo! I joined Gold's Gym today! I used to take their group classes (body pump, step, body attack) but I eventually got bored. They've added a ton of new things like Zumba, Boot camp and suspension training. I'm super pumped! It feels good to want to get out and do things again.

On the vitamin front, I have a confession...I'm not taking my MVI. It's centrum chewable and it sucks! They were $10 at WalMart. Don't think I won't take those bad boys back either. I will wait for another couple of weeks until I can swallow my normal vitamins.

I am still taking my B Complex SL and added biotin 2.5 mg x2 for my hair. I'm also taking my Nexium Mups 20mg 2x/day. Nothing exciting to talk about on the food front. Just having a great day!

23 Days Post Op / 06Mar2011

Mar 05, 2011

I'm officially down 15 lbs now. It looks like this 3 week stall is gonna hang around. I'm still pretty happy with my 15 though. I had my first real breakfast this morning. Pretty tasty. This is one egg scrambled with 1 piece of bacon. I'm averaging 2-3 shakes a day and about 2-3 oz of food 1-2x/day. I have found that the last week or so, I'm not really experiencing hunger. Definitely head hunger, but not real hunger. I have found that it doesn't pay to pick while I'm cooking because, no more than I can eat, I am too full to eat by the time I sit down. Even though the scale isn't moving, I feel smaller every morning I get up!
