Pre-ops

Feb 07, 2007

Well I had my pre-ops today.  They did blood work, a gallbladder ultra-sound, and chest x-ray.  I am good to go for the surgery on Monday.  Just 4 more days.  I start the liquid diet on Saturday.  On my last appointment with the Dr (yesterday) my weight was 245.9 so that will be my starting weight.  My height is 5' 2.5".  This makes my starting BMI 45.  Not a good thing but I am looking forward to be on the loosing side!

Surgery date!

Feb 02, 2007

Whoa!  I got a date and holy crap it's only a couple weeks away!  I meet with my surgeon on the 6th of Feb. and then have my pre-admisssion w/gall bladder ultra sound on the 7th and my surgery is scheduled for the 12th.  That is only 10 days away!  I really didn't expect them to be scheduling so quickly.  I really thought that I would be a month or two out.  Now I am really getting nervous/excited!  Wish me luck all!  God bless!

Got approval

Feb 02, 2007

OMG!  I called the doctor's office today to see if they had sent my paper work to the insurance company yet and they told me that they had already gotten the approval and were trying to get a hold of me to set a date!  I have to call back after 3:30 to talk with Joann.  I am just a basket of emotions!  I want this so bad yet I am also nervous!  I hope they schedule soon so I don't have to much time to worry about everything and the sooner I will be on the losing end!

I had my physical & blood work done today and am just waiting for those results and an approval letter from the insurance company.  I keep reading the blogs and post of others and I am so psyched about having the surgery done.  I have been fighting this weight for way too many years and I am ready to have it behind me.  I did a lot of research and felt that the laposcarpic was the best way for me to go.  I'm am just hoping that things keep moving along at a good pace.  I really don't want to have to wait another 6 months to a year!

Onederland! Woo-hoo!

Wow!  I can't believe it has really been this long since I last posted.  I guess things just get away from you.  I have found Onederland!  Woo-hoo!  I am down to 196 as of this morning.  I really can't remember the last time I was below 200!  In 2004, my husband and I both did low carb and I lost really fast but never got below the 200 mark as much as I tried.  I'm loving this.  I am starting to actually feel small.  I know I'm not yet but it is a good feeling being able to cross my legs again and reach places on my body that I haven't been able to reach lately.  I talked my DH into doing my measurements last night so I will post them in another post.  I am wearing a size 18 jeans but they are big but I still have a "muffin top" in the 16's.  I am hoping soon!  I find I still eat things that get "stuck" or maybe I just eat too fast and it is uncomfortable but I can easily make myself sick to take care of it.  The hardest part of all this is that I no longer want to cook for my family.  I just have no interest in food that way.  I don't mind just having some chicken salad on crackers for dinner but that is no dinner for them.  I need to work on that.
