I am sending a big shout out to everyone here on OH who sent me such wonderful messages!!! Thanks for the phone calls, emails, etc!!!! They really meant alot!! It feels great to know I have such wonderful people supporting me and cheering me on!

Well today was PAY DAY....just not for me lol. I had to go in and sign my consent for surgery and take care of that "little bill". I took my sister with me since they asked that I bring an adult family member with me. I met with the surgeon, nutritionist and patient coordinator.
I will hopefully be doing my final testing this Saturday, if not it will be Monday or Tuesday.
Then its off to surgery on APRIL 15TH!!!
My sister who is THE BEST, said she will follow the two week diet with me prior to surgery. We work at the same place so that will make it so much easier to have her there supporting me. The diet isnt too bad:
I can pick from the following:
egg whites
protein shake
cereal
Lean Cusine or Healthy Choice Meal (he said eat one but if I am still hungry to eat two)
one (1) 100 calorie snack per day
Minimum of 64 ounce of water/crystal light
Minimum of 40g Protein a day
Oh and at my last visit I weighed 339, today I was down to 331!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I called the patient coordinator after the appointment just to inform her that I had join and how it went. She was happy that it went well and said we needed to schedule a date so that I can have the testing done at the hospital. Well she gave me a surgery date of April 15th!
I have a lot to do before then but I am super excited & nervous all at once. Its like the butterflies in your stomach right before going on stage.

I made an appointment with Dr. Paul Fulford (TY Tonya, for his info). He gave me an appointment for March 19th at 10am, he told me to expect to be there at least two hours.

They took my BP (134), height (5'4) and weight (339). I met with the surgeon, patient coordinator and nutritionist. They spelled everything out for me in black and weight and gave me alot of handouts. The surgeon even drew a picture showing me the bypass which I thought was funny, I was actually shocked to see how small the opening for the new stomach will be though. I have to attend a seminar on March 26th, see a psych and get some tests done at the hospital (EKG, chest ray, and blood work). They surgeon said my surgery could be as soon as EARLY APRIL!!!!!!

I talked to my boss today about my plans to have gastric bypass, she is a great boss who happens to be a dietician. I wanted to find out from her how far in advance she wanted notice. She said to just let her know as soon as I get a date. I told her that my plan is to have the procedure in May or sooner.
I am really happy that the conversation went well. :)

Well after much deliberation and stressing I have decided to have my surgery here in New Jersey and not in Mexico. The cost will be double here but it puts my famly at ease and I need there support. I was quoted 20k (well she said less then 20k, but I rather estimate more then less), I am depleting my savings and financing half of that amount.
My first official consult with the surgeon is this Thursday! (March 5th).
