I'm 59 years old and have been married for 41 years to a wonderful man.  We have 2 children and 5 grandsons.  I managed a Pediatric Practice for 12 years and am now retired.

I've been heavy for pretty much my entire life.  I have decided to have a RNY.  I've met the surgeon and had Psychological exam.  Now I am just waiting to hear from them to tell me what is the next step.  My daughter is also having a RNY with the same surgeon.  We are both waiting for dates.  I'm excited about it.  I know it will change my life for the better. My top weight was 358 and 10 years ago I lost 90 pounds following Weight Watchers.  I have faithfully gone for 10 years and have kept between 60 - 90 off but right now I am pushing close to that 300 mark.  I'm proud I have kept off at least 60 pounds and usually about 70 - 75 for all these years.  We eat very healthy but just too much.  I'm looking forward to the challenge of creating new dishes to eat which will be "pouch" friendly yet be good for my normal sized husband.

We travel a lot doing nature, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, wildflowers and  photography. My goal is to get into the "Zodiacs" on a Galapagos cruise we have booked next year.
