So I am going to try and keep this updated now. I don't have much to report right now except I am looking for a dr who is near to where I live so I can get my band adjusted soon!!!

I spent my 33rd bday in the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. I was not- in fact I am very healthy heart wise- but the doctor told me that day, that I had to get my weight off or the next time it WOULD be one. I don't want that to happen. I want to be happy, healthy and be able to do things with and see my little girl grow up. I have played with Fate far too long. Diets don't work for me so this is the choice I have made.
5-14-06 Happy Mother's Day!
I birdsat and dogsat this weekend and my friend has a totally aweseom scale that weighs even me! I weighed myself and I am now at 350. My highest weight was 404. I am still very excited and happy about the choices I have made for this surgery, and am hoping to meet others who have done it as well. For the first time in my life ,I have a positive feeling about weight loss.

This past Monday I found out 2 things. One, is that my ins covers 80% of the surgery, and all I need upfront is 1,000.00. I also foundout I have an abdominal hernia, and its somewhat large. I go this Tuesday to have an ultrasound and an Upper GI done. Since this news, I have had a wonderful friend tell me that she would loan me the money to have the surgery, so that I can also get the hernia repaired. The hernia explains why my stomach aches when I eat. So as soon as I get paid this coming week I will make my appt with the WLS doctor and get the ball rolling. I am so excited!!!

I made my appt with my surgeon for the first visit for July 7th. I am so excited!!!
And today I went for my ultrasound and upper gi but they didnt do the upper gi because I was too big for their table. So I have to go to St. Vincents to have it done because their table is the right kind.
SO thats another bit of time off work, but it's ok in the long run. I go this Thursday the 22nd to get the fiorst of four B12 shots. ugh. I hate shots, but I know its for the best.
I am still working on my letter to my ins. I want it to sound just right. More info when I get the ultrasound results back!!

I finally have the money to go for my first appt with the surgeon. I am so excited!! My appt is the 13th @ 10 AM. More info after that.

I went for my first appt!!! Now somehow, my weight is questionable. My reg doctor weighed me @ 344 this past Thursday, but my surgeon weighed me at 431. I so like the 344 better but seriously, either way it has to come off. So I ahve 4 more appts to go and the 4th one is when they send off the paperwork, and after that its just the wait for approval. I will post again after my 2nd appt.
10-4-06 I have my next appt with my surgeon next Wed. and I was a little worried about what my weight had maybe changed to, whether good or bad. I went in just to use the scale and it said I lost 6 pounds!!!!! I was sooooo happy!!! Next week I see the psychiatrist, nutritionist AND the doc again, then we just wait for the letters to come from the psyc and nut people to send off the packet. I am down to 425 lbs.
10-10-06 I went to the psychiatrist today. She was great!!! Next I visited the nutritionist and they were awesome too.
10-11-06 I went to see the doctor again today and got more great news- I have lost 7 pounds in one week. I was super happy and he was pleased. Now we wait for the letters to get to him from yesterday's appointments, and then send off the packet.. I have lsot 13 pounds on his diet so far.. A great start before my surgery. More news soon! 418 lbs!!

Today I received approval for my surgery!!! My surgery is set for November 13th @ 1145 AM! I am so happy!! I have my pre-ops tomorrow!

My surgery went very well on Nov. 13th. I went back to work on the 16th for half a day and all day Friday. I bruised alot from the surgery but that's no biggie. Friday I was able to go off clear liquids and onto protein drinks, and tomorrow I can have mushy food. I go Tuesday for my post op check up and first weigh since my last weigh which was 11-03-06 and I was still @ 418.5 . I would love to be nearer to 410 or less since its been all liquids for over a week. I am going to try to sweet talk my doc in to taking a picture for me....
