My surgery date for my revision to gastric bypass is December 17th. I start my liquid pre op diet tomorrow for 4 weeks prior to surgery. Not to happy about that. Wanted to enjoy Thanksgiving and my final last supper...its not like I eat alot, still eating with Band on, but I guess its bittersweet. My health is more important than turkey and such. :)

 Started a new job Oct 3rd and busy with training in a busy dispatch office. I hope I learn it all soon. Done with all my appointments that are required for surgery, just waiting for insurance approval. Working keeps me occupied. :)

Dr. Pitchford said that nothing is wrong. He looked at the flouroscope from 6 months ago and said everything is in place. Well that is also 6 months old and something has changed and yes, I still have the pain. I think he didnt want to do anything about it. He doesn't put lap bands in his patients anymore.

So, I'm still in pain and living life on Ibuprofen.

Same pain as yesterday, Waiting for the Doc to call, or I will have my boyfriend take me to the Urgent care. I hate that Doctors seem to brush off when you tell them you have pain.

I can't stand this pain. This Vagus nerve is killing me, i'm in tears today its that bad. I'm not sure what to do. It will be several months before surgery yet. I will talk to my bariatric nurse tomorrow. :((

As I may or may not have stated I do have sleep apnea. I've had it for about 10 yrs now and the Doc is asking me why I didnt do follow up with it? I was told I didnt need to. So now I have to see her again, after I make some appointments to have my machine serviced. years ago, i felt like I was pushed out the door, see ya, you don't need to come anymore, kinda like with my lap band. Now they are changing their policies because so many people are having problems.

What else do I have this week. The support group. I better go. It is so nice to have that support from so many people who are going through the same you are.

 I get that pain that shoots up from my neck to my stomach, if I eat too much, or don't get food in. I can't win, either way it hurts for like 4 hours at a time. But as you know Doctors, you can't diagnose yourself or pains. If they don't, who will?

I have a Sleep apnea appointment set for Tuesday this week. I have sleep apnea, so not sure why I have to go see one for a diagnosis? 

Not much to write about. Tired from taking my 16yr old son school shopping. Dealing with this nerve pain and knee pain. and that is about it. Good to document any pains to refer back to.

 I had a Lap Band precedure done in April, 2004. Over the last 7 years, I lost 170lbs. For the past year, I have slowly gained 70lbs of that back. This is causing my knees to hurt and lots of other problems. With the loss of my dear Mother in 2010, my grief took over my life, i'm slowly trying to gain it back. The problems I am having with my Lap band are that when I eat, my port must be sitting on a nerve that causes some severe back pain.

Thus far, I have seen the dietician twice, and tried to have the solution taken out of my band, but after an hour of the nurse poking and prodding without numbing, I was in tears and so much back pain. So that will have to wait.

I have 1 more visit with the dietician, a visit with the Sleep Apnea Dr. (which I already have), and the bariatric psychologist in October, My revision surgery could be anytime after that.

I wish I could say I don't have any fears about having the surgery. Having them take off the lap band that has been a part of me for the last 8 yrs. And doing the RNY. I'm terribly afraid. Having a new surgeon, in a different hospital, scares me. I am thankful for the support of Wayne, my best friend and special man in my life. He knows fully what I have to do, and having the support I will need will be greatly needed.
