«...Day of surgery...»

I was SOOOO NERVOUS!!!  But the staff at the hospital was so kind and patiente.

Was weighed just before going in to the operating room, 340 lost 20lbs on Optifast in 2 weeks...  NOT BAD !!!
I was told to sit down in the hall in front of the OR and I just started to cry and couldn't stop.  Then I was brought into the OR, lied down on table, a mask was put on my face and the next thing I was waking up in the recovery room... No pain just a little stiff, transfered to my room by a very jolly orderly and was met at the elevators by my mom and boyfriend, I was so happy to see them :-) then a little later my brother and my friend came to see me, they all stayed 'till 10:30 PM.
In my room I kept dozing off, the night nurse scolded me for waiting to tell her that I had a little pain and that I shouldn't wait to tell her, so I got a shot of morphine and not long after I was out for the night.

In 10 hours I will be going in for surgery, Oh My God !!!
Getting really nervous !   Looking forward to my new life...  Will update post-op. :-)

3 days on Optifast and down 10lbs... Yippeeeee !!!!

Today I started my 1st day of protein liquid diet "Optifast", just had breakfast at 11:30 just could not get myself to start early and it was Vanilla YUCKKKK !!!

This will be a very LONG 13 days !!!  Should have been 14 days but picked up the protein yesterday afternoon.  So 13 days x 4/day = 52 shakes...

Called the dr's secretary yesterday and she told me she was supposed to call me on Sunday to give me my surgery date...  she would have saved me $35 worth of fruits & vegetables and $100 worth of groceries... had just gotten home from my errands when I called her !!!   Oh well...

Thursday I start my liquid protein diet: 3 meals & snacks/day for 2 weeks...  UHHH!!!   That's going to get boring fast !!!

Now is going to be my time to take care of ME, will try to sleep 8 hours per night, take my meds and vitamins at regular hours, elevate my legs when swollen, rest and TRY to relax.   lolll

Looking forward to my new Life !!!

Not having such a great week, I am not a very patient person and this waiting is driving me CRAZY !!!
Still no phone call from Dr's office on when surgery is scheduled, and I'm supposed to go on a Protein Liquid Diet 2 weeks prior operation.

Getting very restless... and a little nervous.

Had my pre-op tests done today... oufff !!!...  was at the hospital for 7:30 and finished at around 12:00, very long morning.  Everything went fine, well organized not very long waiting periods between tests/visits.

1st had an EKG, then visit with an Internal Medicine Doctor told me what meds not to take morning of surgery, then an Anaesthetist who scared me by telling me that there was a 50% chance that tube going in throat will be put in before I am under  !!OWWW!%?!!, blood tests, visit with a resident for background info, and last had a chest x-ray.

Not bad, all in one morning !   Now I just have to wait for call from Dr's secretary for date of surgery  « sometime in September »  :-)

Spoke to Dr's secretary this morning and she schedualed me for my Pre-Op tests next week on Thursday, July 27th !
Getting closer to the BIG DAY !!! Yippeee !!!

Had my Pre-Operative Evaluation today with a psychologist, nutritionist and exercise physiologist.
Did not learn anything or seem necessary but part of the steps before getting a surgery date.
This little step just cost me $750. only because I did not want to pay full amount, when I get my surgery date will go back and get my high protein liquid diet and pay balance of $750., for a grand total of $1,500. 'lots of mooola $$$ for 2 weeks of Optifast liquid diet and 3 hours of evaluation.
