Hey Lisa--just a note to encourage you . . . I went out of state to have my surgery too. I went to Dr. Hall in Lubbock, TX and I live in Tulsa, OK. I went all alone, scared to death. I didn't even have somebody here that would support me enough to drive me to the airport, had to take a cab both ways. But the hospital was wonderful to me and I'm sur your surgeon and his office will be there to fill in for not having loved ones with you. If it helps, now, nearly a year later, I've only got about 24 lbs. to goal, lost 127, and am doing great. My parents were all terrified for me, would not "stand by and see me kill myself", etc. and now they are my biggest supporters, telling everybody about me and showing off my pictures. IT WILL BE WORTH IT ALL!

Hi Amos Friends. I have an update on Lisa. Lisa will be leaving in three days to have her surgery (just a reminder, Lisa is leaving her home state and is having the surgery all alone because of economic reasons her husband cannot make the trip with her). I am so grateful to all the members of this site that have so graciously supported Lisa thus far in her journey to the 'other side.' Lisa is currently experiencing a lot of anxiety about leaving home, having the surgery, and whether or not she will be sucessful at losing the weight and keeping it off. She only has support within the home front (her husband and child), when she revealed her desire to have wls to her mom/dad----she was left un-supported. So, please offer Lisa more than the usual amount of attention----she's in need from all of us. Thank you so much for offering Lisa all your friendship, care and concern. Sincerely, Lisa's 'angel', Lori Ann

Good luck on your coming surgery. My prayers are with you, and hoping for an uneventful surgery, and a speedy, painfree recovery. Keep your focus on healing. Make sure you walk, and keep up your breathing exercise. YOU CAN DO THIS! See you on the other side.
