So in a week from tonight i probably won't be able to sleep. 

I only have one week left to go, but i can't wait! I feel like i will go crazy! 

I know there are tons of people out there still waiting for approval, or documenting a year of dieting...but now that i have a date i need it now!


I have been like addicted to looking at before and after pics on here. I can't believe that in a year that could be me.  I hope i am one of the lucky ones that has no problems. I will pray for that and pray for a  calm to come over me this last week.

I went to Barix today for my PA testing and i am always nervous until i get there and then i am totally calm and excited.

I got there today at about 8:40 and my appointment was at 9:15 but they started the day as soon as i got there.

First  i went to an office to sign paper work, after that they took blood for lab tests. After they got all my blood that they wanted i went to a nutrition class that lasted about an hour. Then i had cheast x-rays, a gallbladder ultrasound, a urine test, a respitory test and then an EKG. After all of millions of tests i talked to a nurse about the day before surgery and my surgery day ( which is now in 2 weeks!!). 

I have to do this breathing thing 6-8 times a day to make sure my lungs are good for surgery which i will accomplish because i want to do everything to the T. 

I am really excited and stiill a bit nervous about everything. I guess that is normal though!

Well the office called me today with my date for surgery! It will be on Tuesday March 13. I have my pre op tests this Monday. 


I can't believe this is all happening so quick. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I know this is what i want, i just have never had surgery before. I'm sure it will be fine. 

Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

20 days.

Well, it has been about a month since my last post. I have officially been approved for surgery by my insurance! I don't have any out of pocket deductable either! I called Barix and the woman i talked to said that she sent all my information to the scheduling department and that they should be calling me today or tomorrow! You can't believe how excited i am. I feel like i've had all of these hoops to jump through and it is finally getting closer! 

I went to CORI clinic as well in Warren but i just loved Barix so i am sticking with them, and i will be scheduling with them any day now! 


I am nervous but i am really excited too. I am glad that something in my life is turing out the way that i planned it to!

I went to the Barix Clinic today for my first consultation. I have to tell you that i loved it there. They were all so friendly and i have never been so excited to go through with this surgery. I will post more about it later when i'm not so tired.

I have been looking into getting a weight loss surgery for a few years now. Now that i have finally graduated from college i have more time on my hands until i find a job so i have been continually finding more information about different kinds of procedures.

I have a consultation with Dr. David Kam at the Barix Clinic in Yipsilanti on Thursday and i am so excited to finally get things going. However i know about 4 people who went to the CORI Center and loved it, so i want to look into that too. I don't know how to make a good decision so i guess i will just wait for CORI to call me because i gave them my insurance information today and they said they would call me about how much my insurance will cover or any type of procedure. Anyways i will keep updating on my progress into this exciting new world. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.
