This has been the story of my life, obesity. I decided for years I was going to beat this dreaded extra weight that seemed to make me feel not so great about my body image. I just couldn't except being over weight and didn't want to live the rest of my life as I've been...living to eat and not to live. I pondered over which way to beat this disease called obesity but every action I took seemed to fail within months of feeling a breakthrough. Eventually the gastric sleeve seemed liked the only option left in my fight, and I did it! I started my journey in June 2013 with my bariactric center and on August 20th 2013 at 1000 am I had my life changing procedure! The Robotic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy was my surgery of choice. I had a rough 1st 7 weeks due to nausea and abdominal pain which was not the typical recovery but it was my path. I made it through and now feel much better and can see the benefits of my choice in having bariactric surgery. Losing 70 lbs is amazing in less than 3 months, I look forward to maintaining this new lifestyle and enjoying healthier habits. I'm able to cross my legs and it feels amazing, the small things I can now do are cherished more now than ever. Loving myself more and feeling self confidence return each pound lost. I advocate anyone making the decision to have bariactrics, it was the one tool that has actually worked for me and if used correctly will be a lifetime celebration!
