Robin N.
I am 36 yrs old. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 18 yrs and we have two sons (15 yrs and 9 yrs). My husband is active duty military so we move around alot. Between the moves and the deployments (5) and field exercises (too many to count) I have packed on the pounds. Each deployment I would lose weight in the begining and then double it back on towards the end.
I have tried many diets and pills. Some with a little weight loss and others I couldn't tolerate, i.e. slim fast made me sick. I gave up drinking sodas in 99 and lost some weight just by doing that. In the last year or so I have started drinking Sprite again. I have decided to give up the Sprite and stick with water or Crystal Light. I am going to stay away from sugars and carbs until I have the surgery. I have lost 10 lbs since April. I don't know yet when my operation will be as I am in the begining stages of finding a dr., etc. My PCM is supportive of me having RNY, so at least that is one hurdle crossed. Tricare (military insurance) covers RNY and I have a BMI of 47 with several comorbidities so I don't think I will have too much problems getting approved.
