Almost There!
Mar 10, 2013
So, I'm 10 months out and almost to Goal. I've stalled for the past month and have fluctuated the same 5-7lbs. during that time as well. I'm not exercising, which I know is probably the key to my whole problem, but I'm still too tired!

Just Checking In
Nov 16, 2012
I just wanted to post that I am just about at my 6 month mark and I'm down 87lbs.! I'm feeling good, but fighting some fatigue. I really need to exercise more, I think that may help, but I am a little lazy. :-( My blood work is normal, and I seem to be getting enough protein in every day, so it could be my sleep apnea still or my hypothyroidism. I haven't had any real issues with food at this point, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones!

Dumped?
Jul 08, 2012
So I guess maybe I dumped for the first time 2 nights ago. I had potato cheese soup and boneless, skinless chicken tenders at Quaker Steak & Lube...well I guess I got the "Lube" part! I ate pretty much only the cheese broth from the soup, and 1.5 chicken tenders, and as we were paying the bill, I started to feel not so good. I'm not sure if it was a true 'dump" or not, but I know I felt nauseous, and I thought I was going to mess myself. As my husband drove the 9 miles I SUFFERED all the way home, at one point I didn't think I was going to make it! I jumped out of the car before he had it at a full stop and sprinted to the bathroom, and just made it. IMan that was awful, I thought a bomb went off! I didn't really sweat, shake, or have heart palpatations so that's why I'm wondering if it was a "dump". I had been constipated for several days and I'm thinking that the excessive fat in the soup just "loosened" everything up...

Slow But Sure?
Jul 03, 2012
So I'm down 43lbs. including pre-op, and doing fairly well. I don't think I'm getting enough liquids, and may be a little dehydrated, but I'm working on it. I am a little frustrated at times when I try to eat, and after the first bite or so, I just don't feel like doing it! I've not found anything so far that upsets my stomach, and have had no nausea, vomiting or foamies! I do get a pain in my pouch when I eat too much though. I do fantasize about food sometimes though!

Getting A Little Frustrated
Jun 20, 2012
So I'm 4 weeks out today and I know everyone loses at their own pace, and I did not get obese overnight, but I fell like the scale has hardly moved at all over the past 2 weeks! I am down a total of 33lbs. including my 18lb. pre-op weight loss. I'm trying my hardest to stay on plan and get all my liquids, proteins & vitamins in, the only thing I'm lacking is consistent exercise. I guess that is where I'm failing. But I went back to work at 2 weeks out, and I do walk as part of my commute, but everyday I get home I'm exhausted and that's ast thing I want to do!

2 Weeks Post-Op
Jun 07, 2012
Everything is going great! No problems other than the pain in my large incision. I'm down 30lbs. since my pre-op diet and I'm going back to work on Monday, at least part-time.

Surgery in 3 Days!
May 19, 2012
And I'm okay, except for the whole "I hope I don't die!" thing that has been running through my head for the past 2 weeks.

"The Closets"
Apr 07, 2012
So, I have a wonderful walk-in closet in my master bedroom, not huge, but large enough. The racks run along either side, and one across the back, in a |_| shape, and it is packed! The right side and back racks are mine, the left is for my DH. The right side of my closet taunts me daily, this is my yo-yo closet. It holds from size 16 to a size 24, the clothes that I haven't been able to wear in a long time! All the beautiful dresses, tops, slacks, not to mention the 50+ pairs of heels that sit in their boxes, waiting for the day that I can wear them without pain again. The back rack is what I can presently wear, it has exactly 6 pairs of stretchy slacks, 12 tops, and a 6 of those flowy jackets for camouflaging, and most everything is black or can be worn with black. That is my daily wardrobe, other than my around the house clothes, which are 4X T-shirts and 4X yoga pants.
But, as most women know, that closet is not enough for all our clothes! My "Other" closet is upstairs in the guest room. Most women have one or have had one, it's the one full of clothes you couldn't get your left butt-cheek in if you tried! I visit the closet occasionally, just to look, sigh, and think, "some day". Then sometimes you think, "why don't I just get rid of these clothes", then that phrase comes back to you again "some day". Heck, there are things in there that still have their tags on them! Everything in there is strappy, and sleeveless, and sooo small, when compared to anything in your daily closet. Believe me, my reason for wanting WLS is not about the clothes, it IS about my health, but oh, to be able to fit into those clothes again one day would be a little bit of heaven!
