Yeah!!!  I survived a whole month!  I looked back and read my post just a few days out from surgery.  I must have been in quite the bad place.  Man was I grumpy.  Much different story now.  It's exactly one month out today and I was psyched to see the scale hit 210.  I took pics and I think there is a pretty noticeable difference. 

Life is pretty good.  I'm down 2 sizes and cleaning out my closet once a week.  It's actually pretty funny.  I've never seen anything like it. 

I feel completely human.  My energy is up and my stomach is no longer aching.  I can't believe how quickly things healed.  Of course I didn't have this outlook a week out from surgery... It hurt like hell.... but I'm good now.  Actually I've been pretty good since about week 2 when I went back to work.  My belly was a little tender until about week 4. 

I shopped a little this week.  It was way more out of necessity than anything else, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I fit into most XL clothes.  And XL not in the plus size sections... SCORE!! 

So really... so far so good!  I see my surgeon in a few weeks so we'll see what he says then... But for now... I'm happy as a clam and enjoying my new self! 

Soo... I went in for surgery Tuesday, 08/12/08.  Had to be there first thing in the morning since surgery was scheduled to begin at 7:30am.  I was actually taken into the operating room about 8am... Operation took about 3 hours and the dr. said everything went perfectly...

I spent a little while in recoverey.  I apparently woke up pretty quickly.. then they took me to my room.  I was on the morphine pump so I was feeling pretty good... I had a great nights sleep and even walked a few times. 

Weds I was still feeling pretty good with my morphine pump.  I walked a ton and had some visitors... Then around 8pm.. I spiked a fever of 102.5.  My surgeon ordered a ton of blood tests and cultures and then decided that it wasn't an infection, but it was the morphine doing something to my respitory system so they took me off the morphine pump... NO...... They instead put me on dilottid (sp?).  Well... wouldn't ya know... I had a huge reaction to the dilottid.  I had the cold sweats.. the bed was drenched.. I had headaches and was feeling nautious.  So nautious that even the anti-nausea meds didn't help. 

Thursday night they took me off of the dilottid thank god and put me on liquid perks.  They work pretty well on the pain as long as I don't move. 

I came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon.  The bumps on the car ride home were excrutiating.  Getting up and down from sitting to standing position hurts like hell.  Even thinking about having to get up and potty scares me to death.  Honestly... this whole thing hurts a whole lot more than I expected...  Then I saw my scale... and figured.. I should get on it... Maybe I'll see some good weightloss and it will motivate me a bit.  Ya know.. get my spirts up and way from the pain.. Well I got on and HOLY SHIT!   I gained 7 pounds...WTF!  Now the rational part of me knows.. Your body is holding a ton of water weight..afterall I've been pumped full of it the entire time I was in the hospital.  But the other part of me says.. shit.. would have been nice to see atleast a 2 or 3 pound loss.  So now I'm not getting on my scale for atleast another few days...

Ok.. time for my pain meds... will rant more later...
