June 2007 - I had a fight today...

The couch and I had a fight about 6:00 this morning. There for a while I thought it might actually win but I mustered up the strength and kicked it's butt. Seriously around 6:00 this morning I had a bright idea. I've been in the recliner since getting home because I couldn't even imagine lying down. Well about 6:00 this morning I took my pain meds and thought I was feeling so good that I would lie down on the couch and give my back a rest. BIG mistake. I laid down and got wedged in the crack of the sofa and couldn't move. Then... belly pain! I was flopping around like a fish trying to get up. Got about half way there and had no strength left. I called out for my husband and of course he couldn't hear me, so I laid there for about 20 min. until I gave it a big push and made it to a full sitting position.
And the moral of the story?
The recliner is your friend, embrace him, love him (at least for the first week)!

I've prepared for tomorrow by cleaning the house, new sheets on the beds and took a long bath. Did all the girlie things you do when you're going to be buck naked on a table! I finally packed my bag and I think I'm ready.
I'm going to need a Xanax salt lick!

Today was hard. This liquid diet is kicking my arss! Day 1-3 was hard then it was easy day 4-7 but today... I smelled PIZZA! I walked in the door from work and my husband calls from the kitchen "got a pizza. want some...oh I forgot", for a split second I though I would fly across the room and snatch that pizza from his grubby little hands but reality set in. Even at work today I was hungry, all the time. Last night I wandered around the kitchen like a lost sheep. I've been good, I really have. I think I'm going to go crazy before Monday.
June 2007 - Pre-Op Today

It's been a few days since I posted last. A lot has been going on. I just got back from a business trip and then a vacation to the best beaches on Earth (my opinion)...the panhandle of Flordia. The weather was fantastic and I came back looking like a lobster. I'm having beach withdraws
Today I had my PAW (pre-admission workup). It kinda hit home that it really is going to happen. I had my first real twinge of fear today.

May 2007 - Friday was Pre-Op!

Well had my pre-op visit with David S. Tichansky, MD Friday. Dr. Tichansky will be my surgeon. June is a very busy month with the group. Between vacations and conferences one will be out all summer at one time or another. All works out in the end though. I really like Dr. Tichansky. He answered all my questions and seem very sincere. He wasn't bad to look at either (hee, hee)! I will do my lab, CXR and EKG on June 14th then I'll be on count down for June 25th.
I got this cool idea for my weight lose picture journal. I'm going to take a picture the night before and then every week on the same day. Same position, same clothes (until they fall off, yeah!), same everything. I'm then going to put them together to make an animation of my weight lose. I hope it works.

32 days, 11 hours, 42 min and 11 seconds until my surgery. Can you tell I'm ready? I know time will fly until a week before, then tick, tick, tick, tick...
I have pre-op this Friday. I'll post after and let ya'll know how it goes.
