It's a cold, rainy, nasty Saturday morning here. Skipped my walk  yesterday because I felt really tired and worn out (anyone else just get this general sense...it happens to me like once a week.  I become useless).  I had at least walked Sun-Thursday a

Hi everyone!  It's a beautiful day here in WA.  There's a little carnival going on that I think I'll take my kiddo to.  I'm sure some small part of me will be crying inside as I pass by the funnel cakes and corn dogs, but I think I'll survive :-)

Hi all,

Went to support group this morning at my surgery center: topic, emotional eating.  I went on a walk on a trail near there to shake up my routine.  It was a nice change.

Hi all, my routine has been crazy the past few weeks and haven't had much time to be on the boards.  Things should slow down now and my schedule back to normal.  Looking forward to the encouragement and accountability of the group.  I had my two month

I haven't been on the board much at all the past few weeks - life has been very busy but good. I'm excited to share that a pair of shorts I got from my local Buy Nothing Group now fit! I got them just before or after surgery, can't recall, but I couldn

You guys!  I hope I'm not stepping on toes to start this thread today, but I really miss it when its not here.  I like seeing what other people eat - gives me ideas and helps me stay on track.

I still have gnarly adhesive residue on my skin from the steri-strips.  I'm afraid to get too aggressive with the scrubbing around my newly healed incisions...I've tried rubbing alcohol as well.  Any tips to get rid of the residue?

Hi Mane! I'm actually feeling really good post-op. I'd say I feel about 98% normal. I get more tired than I usually would, I think because I'm just not taking in that many calories. I'm up to being able to go for an hour-long walk at a time. I'm taking naps when I feel like it :-) I'm grateful I have a second week off of work to make sure I'm taking good care of myself and drinking plenty of fluids. Have you had any surgeries before? I have had a few minor procedures (appendix, etc) and have recovered well from anesthesia and surgery in the past, so that helped me feel comfortable that I would come through this okay as well. My best advice is to follow all your directions from your surgeon and get yourself moving post-op as soon as possible. And I come to this website daily for support. It really helps. SeaBex

Hi Seabexlose. Congrats on your journey. I hope your surgery went well and that you are recovering nicely. I am also new to the site and am scheduled for surgery on May 10th. I am a bit nervous and anxious about the post op process so I would love to hear how you are doing and managing. Best wishes.

I have to say, overall following my surgeon's pre-op diet has not been bad at all.  There have been times I have been craving other food, certainly, but that has been manageable.  I have also been able to stay ahead of the hunger with my protein shakes

So, I had broke into sobbing tears last night over an issue with my 3 year old and boy did that surprise everyone in our house, including me.  Over the past few years its become incredibly clear how I use food to manage my emotions and not being able t
