My two year update...

May 08, 2011

I wanted to leave a few comments to those of you who might take the time to read this. It has been two long years since my weight loss surgery, and I can honestly say the weight loss has turned my life upside down and changed it drastically! I am not saying this in a negative way....not at all. The changes, for the most part, have led to a feeling of total accomplishment, pride, and love for myself. I am still down 125 lbs (only a 5 pound gain from my all time low). I have learned to eat less, and talk a lot more during meals..laughs, which forces me to eat slow. As we all know, there is no magic cure. However, the surgery is a HUGE boost in your weight loss efforts. It can give you the push you may need to do this for yourself, and to believe you CAN accomplish this and be successful.

I now have a new man in my life, a new job, and a very optimistic outlook on life. I am a different person now, stronger, braver, more confident. I had my doubts in the beginning, and I was scared. I wasn't sure if I could do this, and if I did have the sugery, be successful long term. Well...it's been two years and I am still doing it. I am making different choices about food and exercise. I am amazingly healthy. My diabetes is gone! This has been a new beginning for me and it could be for you as well. Good luck and God Bless you on your journey.
