9 months post op

Jul 10, 2009

I had my check up with Dr. Jawad on Monday and I'm down to 202lbs. That's 90lbs. I have gone from a 26w down to a 14-16.  This is awesome I haven't been this small since the early 90's.
It seems weird to walk in a store and have so many choices in clothes.
My energy levels are great and my sugar is right at 100.

I'm headed to my 30th class reunion at the end of the month and though I'm not at my high school weight. I won't be the biggest person when I walk in.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while I guess after this wonderful miracle you get high on life and forget the small stuff that brought you to this website in the first place.
I want to thank all of my brothes and sisters who have been here to support me through this jouney that have spoken on this website. You have been a great inspiration and have made me realize how important this journey is.

I wish everyone who is getting ready to go through this journey the best of luck.  WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

Well had a great time on my cruise. Got back Thanksgiving day. I had no problems eating protien. It was a great way to try new foods without spending money to see if I could tolerate it. I was able to eat everything they brought to the table. My waiter thought I didn't like the food because I wasn't eating all of it. But let him know that I was on a diet and was very full. Learn the second night to not eat bread before the protien. I ate a small piece but it made me very uncomfortable later. Lots of burping in the stateroom. LOL.
I think I had a dumping incident I had eaten a bite of apple from the waldorf salad and a few other bites of food on my plate and I felt very stuffed and started getting the sweats and nauseaous. After about ten minutes I had a case of the foamies but no food came up. Felt much better.

This week I seem to be stuck at 45 lbs lost but I'm not worried because I know this is part of the process. I'm glad to be down this far. Will start back with my trainer tomorrow so that will give me a boost.
I look forward to emptying my closet. So I can buy new things. Look forward to the new year at a lower healthier weight.

Whoo hoo Had my first post op weigh in down 18 lbs. WOW. Getting back into the swing of things. Going back to work tomorrow. had a WOW moment, I sat up from the doctors bed with grabbing my stomach in pain. LOL.  Feeling great no maajor complications and I get my G-tube out the 10th of Nov. thats almost 2 wks before my cruise. THANK YOU. I should be on soft foods by then. Just rereading my NUT packet and it should be no problem getting the correct foods in while cruising.

THIS IS AWESOME.

Well I have made it home and everything is going well so far. I have a little pain around my g-tube but so far I have been able to tolerate everything on my liquid diet.  Just getting around is a little bit of a struggle. Thanks to all who sent up a prayer. Just getting my bearing.

The Big Day is here

Oct 07, 2008

Tomorrow at 7:00 am . I will start my journey on the losers bench. I look forward to being a normal weight again. This surgery gives me a brand new start. It's overwhelming when all of a sudden everything sarts going wrong with your body. Hopefully this surgery will give me a chance to delay the onset of some of the more serious problems that have starting creeping up on me.

I hope that everyone who has gone through this and about to go through this will have great success. My prayers are with you all.

Thanks for the support you have geiven me through this website.

See you on the losing side.

Preop appt.

Oct 03, 2008

Well I'm so excited i had my preop appt. yesterday.  There was a lot of info to take in but my Dr's office gives you a dvd to go back for reference.  I have 5 days until my surgery. I'm so excited. I know my hubby wasn't supportive when I first told him but at the appt yesterday hewas very attentivie and ask questions. He knows this will be good for me and I'm glad he was there to help thru this.

Can't wait to be on the losers bench.

Almost there

Sep 21, 2008

I have just under 3 wks before my surgery. I'm getting excited. My Dh is coming around slowly but surley. at first he reacted negatively but each day he says things that are very supportive and is curious to know a little more. I'm glad. I plan to tell my two closest friend but not until the day before. My boss knows I'm having surgery but not the specific type. Thing are going well. been out trying to find the different types of vitamins and protein shakes I will need post-op.

When I watch the show on Discovery Health about the Morbidly obese I remind myself I have control and I want a better life for me and my family.

Told Family

Aug 19, 2008

I just told my Hubby today that I have decided to do the surgery. Though he wasan't the most receptive he is supportive of the surgery. HE did give the typical answer that I should try harder by exercising more and dieting more. This comes from a man who onlly eats once a day and drinks 3-5 gallons of crystal light and water all day and because he's a cook stands in a hot kitchen all day sweating.

I was a little surprised at his answer though,I know it may take a while for it to sink in but in the end he will be there every step of the way.

Finished my Nutrition eval today. Got a lot of information today about how long it will be before I can go back on solids that's a big factor right now on when I want to do my surgery I have a Cruise during Thanksgiving week. I don't want to be on liquids or pureed when I go. If I know I will be I will do the cruise then do the surgery.  Life is looking good. I need to complete the Asessment from the psych and then everthing should be a green light on getting the approval from Tricare. WHOOPPPEEEEE!!.
