I found out last year, that my insurance requires 6 months of an approved program before I can be approved for surgery. I started the process on February 10, 2009. I got on the Beaumont Weight Control program and so far have lost 18.4 lbs. While I was with the dr for my 2 month check up, she informed me that it's possible that my insurance only requires 3 months of a pre-surgical program. I checked with Aetna and SHE WAS RIGHT!!! I meet with Dr. Krause (the surgeon) on May 4th and I have my 3 month appointment on May 12th. I'm so excited and I've been ready for a long time!!!
