6 Months Out...60 lbs GONE!

Jul 21, 2009

Technically it was July 12th which was 6 months, but what is a few days?

I went yesterday for my 6 month check up and Dr. Hendrick was VERY pleased at how I was progressing.
I can't believe that at Christmas time I was so much bigger.  I still will look in the mirror and see a "fat" person.  This is such a mental game, and a hard one at that.  When I am in the store it takes so much NOT to walk into the "plus" section and realize, yet again, that I actually fit into "normal" sizing.  Yes, I am still labelled as overweight, and yes I still have another 50 lbs to go to reach my goal, but I really have to fight to convince myself how much smaller I am.  Though I know this is a game I WILL win!
I voiced these things to my doc, and he said this is VERY normal...He said people will be at their goal weight and still think like this...He said it is very hard to change the mindset especially because usually most people were big for a long time and this process does happen VERY quickly.  He was not worried at all.  He could tell by the smile on my face and the excitement and enthusiasum in my voice when I spoke that I was doing well and was happy.
He gave me strict instructions "To go out and ENJOY life!"

I am VERY proud at what I have accomplished so far and VERY happy at the results.

With a life changing decision I made not so many months ago,
I continue on this lifelong journey to a happier, healthier me!

No regrets, NEVER!
