HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Jan 04, 2012

Why are the holidays so hard?  Well for one, I was not able to eat the way I had the year before.  AND  I did not cook they way I have done in previous years.  I kept it simple and healthy for me and my family.

I am now below the 100 lbs mark, meaning I have less than 100 lbs to go until I have reached my goal for the year.  I am also no longer SUPER MORBID OBESE, just morbid obese.  Hey folks can laugh if they want, but if all you life you have been in the super field, dropping one makes you feel great.  I know that I have to loss an additional 35-45 lbs just to be normal range, but I am rolling with what I am right now... Living for the day so to speak.   I should be getting my measurements done on Saturday, but I was sick for two weeks and may just wait on that.

I got a fill yesterday, only half a cc but I can tell the difference.  So I am on liquid for two days.  I don't mind before just trying to get those down is taking a toll on me.  I am having nausea, but have to figure out if its the fill or the pill...LOL!

I will write more later for those that actually read my ramblings.

P.S.  I have gone for a 24 to a 20 in pants!

Almost Three Months Ago...

Dec 18, 2011

I had my surgery.  Its been crazy!  Based on the weigh ins at the gym I have lost only 20 lbs.  I started there a month after my surgery.  Based on my doctor's weigh in I have gone down 40 lbs or so.  I can say that I have lost many inches in my waist since working with my trainer... A total of 6!  I write more later.

First Fill!

Dec 09, 2011

Yesterday (12/08/2011) I had my first fill!  I was not as bad as I thought it would be... But tell that to my husband's left hand.  The part I think that was the most uncomfortable was when Dr. Ganta had to find the port.  That goes on my list of things-they-don't- tell you.  He decided to do the fill since I had slowed down with my weight loss.  I only lost 6 lbs in a month.  I can and can't tell a difference. I know my head is hurting like it did right after the surgery, so I guess I am eating less now.  I can feel the difference in my water intake... Two swallows and I am done for a minute or two.  I did go to the gym and I am loosing inches... I've lost 4 in my waist and 2 in my hips in 18 days. I am really in-hate with my bat-wings!!!!  But as soon as I can they are the first to get fixed... I can always buy a great bra to lift the girls up...LOL!
All in All I have made some progress... I can do 100 strides a minute on the elliptical at the gym, and I can chase my little ones up stairs and not pass out after I get to the top.  I take the stairs at work and they are getting easier!

So its not so much the weight loss that makes a difference to me, but all my physical changes!

Training

Nov 14, 2011

I am thankful for my trainer right now... He has introduced me to something I think I may want to pursue... BOXING!  Not to actually fight or anything but punching is FUN!  By the end of a week, my anger levels are at the tip-top of go-off-and-cuss-whoever-out.  But now that he has started with boxing, I can let it all go!  We have also decided to weigh me every Friday and take measurements every other Friday.  I am thinking maybe to lessen that: Weight every other week and measure once a month.  I wonder if I can claim a trainer on my taxes... It is for medical purpsoses after all...LOL  Any CPAs out there that can answer that for me?  I would never share this with anyone outside of this blog/website (somehow I don't think anyone would understand) but here are my measurements from the first day I met my trainer to last Friday.  He says they are good, I say there is always room for improvement... But I am happy at the decrease in all numbers...

Update: 6 Week Post-Op Check

Nov 03, 2011

Well my weight loss is coming along so well, my doctor thinks we can wait to do a fill until next month!  I have lost a total of 11 lbs in a month (an additional 5 lbs since last update).  I am enjoying the hack outta this right now!  I am now 277 lbs... I have not been this weight in 8 years, since before I started having babies.  And it feels great.  I haven't bee at the gym like I am suppose to be, but I am walking and I take the stairs at work every day.

I saw my PCP also, and she has taken me off of my HBP meds... I am down to only needing one a day (it was twice a day).  I am now tracking my BP and it is staying before 135/80.

I have my first appointment with my trainer today, 'please let him take it easy on me, Amen'  I can finally start wearing some of my old clothes again, thank goodness I never donated them.  Of course, its hard to dress for the style of now, with yesterday's fashion... *blank stare, not really that concerned*

I am past the 'wanting to fight everyone' phase.  Now I am on the 'can't-wait-to-shop' phase.

Crystal Light!

Nov 02, 2011

Just realized that drinking a 64 oz container of crystal light adds 40 calories to my day.  I might as well be able to drink diet soda if it wasn't for the bubbles. So I guess my first few minutes at the gym will be spent burning off the 40 calories from trying to get my water in...LOL  Talk about a catch 22!

Halloween!

Nov 01, 2011

So I decided to take my little ones out last night.  Halloween was my favorite holiday of the year, but surgery is making it a little different this year.  I like the day for seeing what the kids come up with for year to year... And who am I kidding, THE CANDY was always a good part too.  But this year, no candy for me!  And I am fine with it... Is it hard to see a bowl of candy, YES!  Would I screw up my tummy for one little taste, NO!  So I had my hubby hide it from me, just in case.  Now only he and the kids know where it is at... LOL  Starting to rethink that part...LOL

I am on a full diet now.  But I still eat a majority of soft foods.  The other day I made some Turkey meatballs in marinara sauce with quinoa and zucchini strips.  I was able to eat the quinoa and half a meatball, still working on the strips.  I still hate cooking two meals on Sundays, but I figure whatever I make for me I can have all week long... so I guess it evens out.  I am making my salmon this Sunday!  I'll make the family brown rice and myself some more quinoa.  I thought it would be nasty, but i actually enjoy it... Maybe it the amount of protein I can get from my serving size...LOL

One Small Action

Oct 26, 2011

I would tell my friends about this, but they would never understand the joy.  This morning while getting everyone out of the house for work and school... I noticed something while standing up and combing my daughter's hair.  I was standing there and for the first time I was standing with my leg together.  From thigh to ankle, everything was touching.  It's been... well I don't really know how long it's truly been, so I'm guessing for never to a while... since I have been able to do this small action.  I would do it before but only by force and discomfort.  In the past 5.5 weeks, I've heard people say that I am loosing weight or they ask if I have.  My response has always been 'no I don't see it'... but I can finally say 'YES I AM' just from this one small action.

I go see Dr. Ganta next week for my 6 week check up.  He may or may not do a fill.  When I saw him last week, he said that my weight loss was good and a fill may not be needed right now.  I am kinda scared about the needle, I hear that it hurts... especially when trying to find the port opening.

Four Week Ago...

Oct 24, 2011

Four weeks ago, yesterday, I had my weight loss surgery!  I am confused on how much I have lost so far, I refuse to buy a scale right now.  But if I go by what Dr. Ganta has in my chart... I started at 303 before surgery... And I am now 286.  My clothes are filling better, and my face and butt have taken to biggest hit of weight loss.  My face I can deal with, but my butt gotta work on that in the gym.  I feel really bad that my workouts last week were far and in between, but that will change!  I am still trying to work out that whole eating and fluid intake thing.  I have to stop taking my protein drinks because they started making me REALLY bloated.  I ate eggs (okay a corner of an egg) and it kept me full for hours.  Does anyone have and advice or ideas on protein intake... my hair is coming out and getting thinner every day.  I would take pictures, but I am only gonna do those quarterly...LOL!
