First full day home alone.

Mar 21, 2009

So, it was so nice to sleep in my own bed last night for the first time in a week almost.  I will admit it did seem a bit strange not having anyone else around but the pets, but I managed.

When I got up this morning, I felt good.  I had my "breakfast".  I tried to bump up to 3 ounces from 2 instead of going directly to the 4 like is suggested.  I am trying to "protect my pouch".  After I finished breakfast I called mom and we went for a walk, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day.  We walked up to the drug store and then the grocery store, it seemed strange shopping for the pets and not for myself but thats what I did.

This afternoon was when the really strange stuff started to happen.  I found myself cleaning, yes, cleaning.  My friends daughter arrived like expected to adopt one of my rabbits and then ended up taking both of them home, one for her and the other for her nephew.  This meant I had a whole bunch of space that I didn't have before. So thats where it started.  I moved the Guinea Pig cage to where the rabbits were, which opened up the area in front of the living room windows. YIKES!!! what a mess, there was dust and mold and all sorts of yuck there that I hadn't seen in along time because the GP was there.  And that is where it began, I cleaned the windows and the window sills, then I cleaned the wall under the window. While I was doing that I notices the entertainment stand was dusty, so I dusted it.  Then "oh look" the book shelf is really dusty, so I decided to clean that too.

As I was doing the bookshelf I started to feel a bit light headed, when I looked at my watch it was 5:45, where did the time go? it was supper time.

I know to some people this doesn't seem to spectacular but you have to know that a month ago, my energy level was in the basement (even some days below that).  I had no motivation to do anything but drag myself to work, and to my evening commitments. There was no energy for anything beyond the essencials.  So, everything that didn't absolutly need doing, like dusting and stuff like that, didn't get done.

Today was the first day ever in my life that I felt motivated to do any sort of housework just because it should be done, not because I was expecting company and it needed to be done.  I truly feel like a different person and I am only 4 days post-op.  I can't wait to see whats going to happen when I lose all my weight.
