The scale defies me

May 04, 2011

LOL.  Basically how I feel when I hop on in the mornings sometimes.

Weight fluctuated up to 278.5 yesterday, and I'm back down to 277 today.  I have been feeling extermely swollen in the past few days, so that may have something to do with the sudden gain.

Plus, as we all know, it takes forever to get the pounds off.  Not to be discouraged.

One bonus to getting back to the plan is that you start to feel better.  No pop does wonderous things (it's amazing how quick you can go back it though).  You start feeling more energized, etc.  Mas aqua = better you.

I only due 15 minutes on the bike, due to my back.  It still gives me a lot of issues in terms of movement.  Even sitting is painful, but it's more viable than long-term walking at the moment.  I will eventually build back up to that.

Tacos for lunch.  I do not add anything extra (cheese, sour cream, etc), so this is a low calorie option for a meal.  Hard shells are prefered over tortillas (they become stuck), which is also lower calorie.  They fill me up.  I am debating about trying a turkey option over beef.  I wonder if this will taste the same?

Day 1

May 02, 2011

Well, not really Day 1 from post-surg, but since moving to Texas and all that has happened...I'll count this as day 1.

Weight = 277.5

Right now I need to figure out what to eat for breakfast/lunch.  I hesitate to grab any of the breakfast shakes, such as the low-carb Slimfast, etc, as they have never filled me up.

In actually, I think a small portion of cottage cheese would do the trick.  The real issue will be not to drink while I eat.  This is a bad, BAD habit I picked back up, and almost impossible for me to break.

However, I have a timer here at my desk, and once I stop eating that sucker is set to 30 minutes.  Maybe it's more mental?  Like the animal behavior tests where the dog's mouth will water when the bell rings?

Kind of always where I have fallen short...menus.  I tend to be a very bland, plain person when it comes to choices.  I hate cheese, mayonaise (sp?), etc, etc.  Breads...breads are my problem.

A lot of meals they recommend, seem very disgusting to me.  I have no idea why this is.  I'll need to do some research and build a meal plan of my own for a weekly basis.  Something set in stone, where I can substitute meats out, veggies, etc, for variety purposes.

And I'm looking for an area support group.  Besides, I need to get out of the house and become more social.  Contract work can be a drag, and you end up working more than if you physically drove to an office/back home.
