Well . . . I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. I had thought about weight loss surgery a few times over the last 3 years. But last fall I decided it was finally time to actually check into it and see what my insurance would cover. To my shock, and delight, my insurance company is very supportive of weight loss surgery. It was because of this factor that I decided to look into surgery even further.I had my surgery through the Duke Weight Loss clinic and although there are some negative reviews out there, I have had a great experience. I wouldn't change a thing.
I am now 5.5 weeks post-op RNY and have lost 40lbs. It's unbelieveable to me but I'm not complaining! I love it!
