Sleep Apnea

Mar 04, 2010

So its been a week or so since my followup with my sleep doctor dude.  I really couldn't understand him because he talked to fast and had a thick accent.  But the assistant with him explained most of the things.. she said i slept for 88% of the time and woke fully up 11 times.  Also i stopped breathing 23 times an hour.  So i was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and was diagnosed with a cpap machine, which i was lucky, i was able to drive right over to the SMG (sleep management group) store here in London and get my machine the same day. i get a free month trial. I'm hoping that my insurance got the info letter that i sent them. I'm possibly out of work next week. massive layoffs so I'm hoping because i sent this in before i lost my job that they will have to honor it.

The mask is hard to get used to.  Because i breath mostly through my mouth  i have a whole face mask, so it covers my mouth and nose. its hard to get used to.  Ive lasted prob at most 4-5 hours with it on before I've had to take it off to get into a better position.   But I'm sure i will get used to it sooner or later.    Ive got an  apt tomorrow for a another followup with the nurse, seeing how much weight i lost from the eating plan and exercise plus the results from the second glucose test i had to do..  So I'll post more tomorrow  on the results from that.
