Week 27 regain loss plan....status update

Jul 09, 2017

I know I didn't post last week due to my computer being on the fritz then, and it's hard to post from my phone.  Anyway, I lost 4lbs last week and my measurements didn't move.  Keeping that in mind, there's this week's stats:

weight: 271.8, lost this week, -3.4lbs, total loss of -51.4lbs

Chest 39inches, stayed the same, total loss of -7.5 inches

Waist 39 inches, lost 1 inch, total loss of -14 inches

Hips, 50 inches, stayed the same, total loss of -10 inches.

Well, i got my butt back on track, and although the measurements haven't really moved lately, my clothes are just hanging on me, despite my trying to put everything that i usually hang, in the dryer to hopefully shrink.  Some did a little, so while they aren't as baggy, they still are too big.  Clothes are expensive, and my focus is to get decent looking work clothes, since i need to have a professional appearance.   This last weeks theme was steak, and boy did I enjoy that.  The first one i had made was with a parmesan shrimp scampi poured over it......using 4 Jumbo shrimp, butter, parmesan cheese and the steak....it wasn't what you would call a healthy meal, but man it was great.....then went on to have bbq steak, steak fajitas, and yesterday was a grilled sirloin steak with steamed brocolli.  I know some of you may be vegetarians, so i hope this isn't offensive to you. This upcoming week I'm doing leftovers, since I still have some turkey meatballs and slow cooked unseasoned pork left.   So I'm thinking with the pork to make soft tacos or something along those lines.  Also, due to not working in Canton anymore, I transferred my planet fitness memebership over to the Belleville one.  while it's nice, I've been at the Canton one for so long, I was home when I was there.  I don't have that feeling at the Belleville one.  I don't care for the set up at all.  Oh well, i still go and do what i need, that's what it's for.  It's practically less than 5 minutes from my apartment, so that's about the only thing i like about it.  Well, I hope everyone has success on their journeys......and OH YEAH,,,,,this week signifies my losing over lbs.....I'm so happy about that......woohoo!!!

Regain loss plan, week 25 update

Jun 25, 2017

Weight 279.2, gained 4 lbs, overall lost 44lbs

Waist, hasn't moved, still 40, overall loss -13 inches

Chest, hasn't moved, still 39, overall loss -7.5 inches

Hips, hasn't moved, still 50, overall loss -10 inches

Well, my bad eating and not consistently working out caught up with me and I put on 4lbs, but it's weird because no inches gained.  4lbs is a lot for a week, or any amount of time really, but I own it....getting back to consistency.  I find it funny how little effort it takes to put on, but so much effort to take the weight off.  I can cry and say not fair, but honestly, I deserve it.  I know what I did, and just need to get over it and as I say, back on track.  There's always something in life, and we just need to adjust accordingly.  So, as for the snack to do right after work while taking the hour it takes to get home, i figured a protien bar should work.  One that's less than 200 calories.  I should be okay with that.  This way my sugar won't nosedive when I work out.  It did that last workout after work and I abruptly had to stop. Way back before WLS, I was diabetic, and my sugar went on the low side after it.  Now it's going back to low, so I need to be on top of things even moreso now.  Regain sucks and is harder to lose but with determination, we can get to where we should be, but i refuse to do anything to the extreme, or any fad diet.  I didn't track my calories, and barely worked out, and a regain happened.  Back on track folks.  AND,. as you can see, I'm still blogging, even with a gain.  Why????   Well, we all falter and need to be accountable for what we do.  It's quite embarassing to fall off the wagon, even for a short duration of time, but it happens.  We have to find the way to pick ourselves up again, dust the shoulders off, and get back to health.  Good luck on your journeys!!

Regain Loss Plan, week 24 update

Jun 18, 2017

Today and overall stats:

Weight: 275.2  - 1.2lbs  total loss of -48lbs since 1/1/17

Chest: 39 inches, stayed the same, but notice cups are getting big on me with my bras, total loss: -7.5 inches

Waist: 40 inches, stayed the same, total loss -13 inches

Hips: 50 inches, stayed the same, total loss -10 inches.

This past week I didn't work out like normal, but still, good results.  I didn't get out of hand with my eating, using the not being able to work out as an excuse to cheat, so that' progress in itself.  I'm going through a job change, and honestly do feel more crappy not working out, so even if not physically, i know i need to work out for my mental health as well.  My commute is longer, so I just need to rearrange my schedule to accomodate. I'm thankful Planet Fitness is open 24 hrs.

Regain Loss Plan, week 23 update

Jun 11, 2017

I know I missed last week, but a friend died, and i kinda lost touch for a moment,,,,but here I am....back on it.

Weight: 276.4  Loss from 2 weeks -2.4 lbs   Overall Loss -46.8 lbs

Chest: 39  Stayed the same, total inches lost: -7.5

Waist:40 Stayed the same, total inches lost: -13

Hips: 50, Loss from 2 weeks, -1 inch, total inches lost: -10 inches.

Well, I didn't hit 50 at my 6 month (6/1/17), but looks like I'll hit it or more by 6/31/17, meaning I'm on track with my personal goal of 100lbs by 12/31/17. I'm happy to have made it this far.  I feel different, and have more energy.  I am also incorporating weight training, but starting out really small with that, cuz, well, i just have no upper body muscles, and have to...LOL.   Also, I'm only doing that about 3 days of the week.  I went to Dicks sporting goods and bought a kettle bell set that has a 5lb, 8lb and a 10lb, and like them a lot, more that the machines at the gym, so at the gym, I'm sticking to cardio, at home, I'll tone with the kettle bells.  Pinterest has so many different kettle bell exercises that I don't think I'll get bored easily.  I can't to lunges or squats due to a bum knee, but eventually, I may give the leg press machine at the gym a try, since I won't be using my full body weight and can start lower.  But the treadmill, in all honesty, has my legs looking good.  This week I ended up doing chicken salad wraps.   I bought some Miracle whip made with olive oil that's only 40 cals per serving, sugar free pickle relish (the jar says calorie free and i add one serving to the chicken salad), and these wraps that are only 60 calories each (found them at meijer, and they are in the bread isle, brand is Tumaro's).  The wrap i bought are Garden Veggie flavor, and be honest, I like them a lot better than the FlatOut breads.  I have made a breakfast wrap, quesadilla and for my chicken salad wraps.  They would probably be  good for other things too like soft tacos and salad wraps too.   But for now, I actually like them quite a bit because they allow me to add more variety and they don't taste bad. As for the rest of the chicken salad, i just add shredded boneless, skinless chicken breast that I cooked in a crockpot..  Now, the Tumaro wrap has 12 carbs total,  5g of protien already in it along with 7 gr of fiber (so do the net carb factor, and not bad for a tortilla at all).   Well, that's it for now.  I hope everyone else is doing well on their journey.  Good luck!!!

Regain Loss Plan, Week 21

May 28, 2017

Weight: 278.8, Lost -6.6lbs, total loss -44.4lbs

Chest: 39, stayed the same, total loss -7.5 inches

Waist: 40, stayed the same, total loss -13 inches

Hips: 51, lost -1inch, total loss -9 inches

Well, this week was a really big unexpected loss, I did nothing out of the ordinary except increase my speed by .02 on the treadmill.  So, I know I ate bad last Saturday, but it didn't stick, because i got back on track, and I even ate 6 slices of pizza at work friday (i skipped breadfast so I could save up my calories .had a 400 calorie dinner to stay within my calorie range, but actually went 200 over, which maybe that's what set off this big of a loss, who knows). Sometimes increasing my calories sets off a loss like this, but this week was not expected for this loss.  This week, I made Italian meatballs in Marinara,,,and didn't get sick, except once when i ate too many, but other than that, they were really tasty and I froze some left overs.  This upcoming week is egg week.  I love my eggs, so I'm doing eggs in various ways.  ALSO, I'll be posting again on Thursday, June 1st.   That is my halfway mark.   I hope everyone is doing good, good luck on your journey.

Regain Loss Plan, Week 20

May 21, 2017

Weight 285.4  Gained 3lbs,,,,,yep, fell off the wagon again   Total loss of 37.8 lbs.

Chest 39  loss -.5 inches, total loss -7.5 inches

Waist 40 inches, gained .5 inch, total loss - 13 inches

Hips 51, stayed the same, total loss - 9 inches.

Well, let's see, I fell off the wagon towards the end of the week by going out with friends and eating lasagna a few times, and not to mention drinks and dessert.....and didn't work out those days.  I don't feel good about it, because it reminded me of old habits.  But I don't want to get in the habit of not living either and being afraid to go out with friends once in a while.   I gained a half inch in the waist but lost that in the chest, so that's wierd...and 3lbs shall be lost within a week or two....I had fun. But, it's not healthy and it's not what to do all the time.  It's not life defining either.  and I felt sick afterwards to be honest.  My stomach wasn't ready for that type of food, and probably doesn't want it anymore.   I did make my teryaki chicken wraps this week, and found out that teryaki sauce that I bought, Kikkomans, makes me sicker than everything too, meaning I couldn't eat them because of that, and had to improvise with other things.  Well, here's to a fun week with some partying involved, and trying new things.......Onto Turkey Italian meatballs this week.  I bought some 93% fat free ground turkey, seasonings, eggs, and will make meatballs in marinara sauce a couple days, and a couple days in bbq sause.  Now i know those sauces don't make me sick, but i can't have too much, because then they do.   Well, back on the wagon it is.   Good luck on your journey everyone....

Regain loss plan, Week 19 update

May 14, 2017

Weight: 282.4, week's loss: -2.6,  total loss: -40.8lbs (woohoo, made it over 40)

Chest: 39.5, week's loss: -.5 inches, total loss: -7 inches

Waist: 39.5, week's loss: -1.5 inches, total loss of -13.5 inches

Hips: 51 inches, week's loss: 0 inches, total loss of -9 inches

This week got really hard for me on a workout level.  I am doing good, don't get me wrong, but a couple days, I just didn't want to do it, but forced myself.  On the treadmill, I started a couple weeks ago at 2.5 miles per hour, I'm now at 2.8.  I can go faster on the elliptical too.  On those days I didn't want to do it, I was just having a blah day.  But got over it.  The great thing is I bought some Brooks gym shoes and while they are pricey, I'm no longer having back issues, and feel like they are putting a spring in my step, even after a 60 minute work out.  I was going to buy Asics, but decided Brooks instead, and feel i made the better choice for myself.   So, as for food, last week i made a port roast. It was really good.  I slow cooked it with a jar of peach mango salsa poured over it.  This week, I'm making Teriyaki Chicken Wraps using flat out bread as my wrap with no sugar added diced mango, and shredded cabbage..  They come to about 355 calories each only.  Well, enjoy your mother's day, good luck on your journey.

Regain Loss Plan, Week 18

May 07, 2017

Stats:

Weight: 285 even....yep, good loss.

Chest: 40 lost an inch from before, and total of -6.5 inches

Waist 41, stayed the same, and total loss of -12 inches

Hips: 51, lost -1 inch, for a total loss of -9 inches

Well, I think changing from my elliptical to actually the treadmill has paid off.  I did something to my back though, pulled a muscle I'll assume, but hey, my body is going through so many adjustments, i think it just doesn't know what to do with itself...LOL  I did my take on a chicken schwarma wrap last week for my dinners, and mixed a couple salad nights in there.   For my take on chicken schwarma, i bought the italian Flat out Breads, 90 calories, 2butter and bread sandwich pickles, 33 cals,  (love em), Sabra's garlic hummus 70 cals for 2 tablespoons, and a whole chicken breast.  Comes a little under 400 calories, but that's the whole meal.  It was filling, very tasty if you're into middle eastern food, and not too much or too little.  I think I'm making a roast this week, haven't figured it out yet.....I'll keep you posted on it.  Basically for breakfasts I switched that up too.  I was buying the Jimmy Dean delighful sandwiches or frittatas.  Well, I'm now making my own sandwich which is 290 calories, but keeps me full until lunch, when i have a lean cuisine of some type.  My sandwich is 2 eggs (i microwave them in this thing from tupperware, they come out perfect and round, so no fats added ) (142 cals), 2 slices of 35 calorie bread of some type, and 1 slice of cheese that's no more than 70 calories (muenster, low fat cheddar, or mozzarella).  And that is very a lot, but again, no snacks in between breakfast and lunch.  In the afternoon, i usually have a snack of lite popcorn, and yes, i eat the whole darn bag.  I only buy Kroger Brand, or Pop Weaver.  I get the lite butter pop weaver at walmart.  It's only 220 calories for the whole bag, and keeps me good until after the gym and i come home and make dinner.  Or the Kroger lite, is 250 calories.  The pop weaver tastes better, and the bag is slightly smaller.   I'm not talking mini bags, I'm talking regular full size, because mini bags and me don't mingle.  One thing i'm disappointed in is my fitbit.  I have a blaze, and honestly, it's really upsetting to me, because it's not reading accurate anymore.  I've had it for about a year now or almost.  Sometimes when I get off the treadmill (i usually walk 2.5 or 2.75 miles), it stops and only gives me about 2000 steps.  2000 steps is about a mile, give or take, so there's no way, so i know it's not accurate.  I've reset it a couple times, but it's still doing it.  I don't think i will ever buy another fitbit.  This is my 3rd one, and they are too costly to die on me as they have.  I had a flex, a clip on one, then a charge, oh, so this is actually my 4th one.  I didn't have to pay for the clip on one. I did like this one the best until it started robbing me of my good stats.  LOL   Well, I can always log on My Fitness pal my estimation of what I've done if this thing continues to act up, but I don't like doing that.   Well, anyways, good luck on your journey everyone!

Regain Loss plan, week 17

Apr 30, 2017

chest, 41, total loss - 5.5 inches   I stayed the same

Waist, 41, total loss - 12 inches  I stayed the same.

Hips, 52, total loss - 8 inches, lost another inch,,,,but

Weight, 289.7.  I gained 2.5 lbs.

One factor....Its that time of month.  Second factor.  I changed from non impact elliptical, which was getting easy for me, to walking on the treadmill, fast paced for me, and boy, my muscles ached all week.  Which is good.   I'm not happy about the weight gain, but I'll take it as an adjusting gain since i didn't gain any inches, and actually lost an inch.  What does losing inches in one's hips mean.  It means underwear get too big, as well as pants.  Some of my pants start falling as soon as i walk, and also, my shoe size went from an 11 to either a 10 or 10.5 depending on the make.   I bought a new pair of workout shoes, Brooks, and they are a 10.5.  They are a narrow shoe, but the 11's were too big, and the 10 were too small.  I'm grateful they make a 10.5.  In Asics I now wear a 10 comfortably.  Asics has always been a shoe i had trouble wearing because they were never a wide width, and their wide widths didn't feel like a wide width, but now i can wear a 10 comfortable.  the cups in my bras are getting too big too.  I've always worn a DD, now that's too big, but I'm still too big for a D.  So, I must be in between sizes.  Most of my bras are a 42, so what was tight is not longer.  All of these are great things.  Sometimes frustrating, but overall, the picture of my health is getting better.  This past week, I had stuffed cabbage for dinnr after working out.  This week, I'm making a chicken wrap.  it will consist of a Flat Out wrap at 90 calories, a chicken breast, two tablespoons of garlic hummus and pickes.  Kinda my own variation of a chicken schwarma wrap. I already cooked all the chicken, so i only have to reheat and assemble. As for snacks, I bought pears and PB2.   I hope everyone is doing great, good luck on your journey!!!

Regain Loss Plan, Week 16

Apr 23, 2017

Stats :

Weight 287.2, total loss of -36 lbs even

chest: 41 inches, total loss of -5.5 inches

waist: 41 inches, total loss of -12 inches (i lost a foot)

hips: 53 inches, total loss of - 7 inches (and this is where my waist was when i started my journey)

Well, I keep surprising myself.  I think the week before last, I ate my weight in mexican food and birthday cake.  There was my dads and my birthdays, and the cake was non stop,,,,,and we had Easter in which my family (or I should say I, since I am the only one to cook for my family this past Easter), made Mexican rather than traditional....and I ended up with leftovers for Monday and Tuesday, then I made homemade Chicken Parm for the rest of the week.  There was too much food.   I've been really good about getting back into the workout routine and feel better for doing it.  Although I've had a couple blips with the moving, and new neighbors, and unsure about my job, I'm still managing a loss of a little over 2 lbs a week, so I'm still on track for my goal.  I'm hoping everyone had a great holiday and good luck on your journeys.....I'm back on track, see you in a week.
