Well here's my story. I'm 33 and had open RNY surgery on 12/12/06. I haven't always been overweight. My weight went up and down all my life. I went thru a chubby phase when I was a kid and then in my teens and early twenties I was pretty small usually between 115 and 120. Of course I thought I was fat back then what a joke. I started to gain weight in my mid twenties and reached an all time high of 270 by the time I was in my 30's which at 5"1" is to much to carry on my body. I tried every diet known to man and I would lose a little weight and then gain it right back with more. I finally decided to have surgery and haven't looked back since. This has been one of the best decisions I have made.

I haven't been on here for awhile so I thought I would put up an update. My life has changed in so many ways since my surgery and I think they all have been positive. After my surgery I got up the nerve to start dating again and eventually met my wonderful husband. We are now expecting our second son any day now ( I won't post my baby preggo weight yikes actually I didn't gain too much) I got down to a steady weight of 130-135 after the surgery and have stayed at that weight since, not including the preggo's:) I really think that making the choice of having this surgery saved my life.
