August 10, 2006 is when I first spoke to my PCP about the surgery.  He happens to be directly involved with the Samaritan Bariatric Program and was able to get me started on the right track.  I began the clinically supervised 5% weight loss that day.  Since then I have completed the 5%, psych eval, sleep study, educational meetings, surgery consultation, dietician consultation, labs, and support meetings needed to meet the insurance company's criteria.  I found out today that my insurance, Samaritan Select, has approved my surgery!! I am scheduled for December 6, 2006.  6 weeks till surgery... I know time will fly, but I am so excited to get going with it.... 6 weeks seems so long.
