3 days out

Sep 10, 2010

My surgery was on 9/7. I had to be there at 8:30 am and was taken to a pre-op room with my family and we sat there for-ever. Holy cow. I was taken back for surgery @ 12:30 and out of surgery by 2.
I had a lot of jitters in the days before but I was amazingly calm and cracking jokes with the anethesiologist. My hospital stay was a peice of cake and I was really surprised that I was not hungry at all, I had grown used to being hungry all the time and suddenly I was not.

My husband has been a rock star through all of this. I have a 4 year old daughter Tabitha and an 11 month old daughter Sabrina and he has taken over all of the nightime parenting duties while I get better. I only took a week off of work so I have to make all these days count.
I went into surgery weighing 232, my surgery goal was 234 so I was doing well. When I went home I weighed 235 (grrr) I know that they told me that this was going to happen but I was hoping that it maybe it just wouldn't happen to me but it did.
That's ok, the scale moved today and it said 230.5! Wahooo!  Every little bit is good.

I have not been able to put much in my belly, a lot of ice and a couple of protein shakes in the last 3 days. That's OK too because it will only get better in time. Here is to a fabulous journey!  I will upload some before pictures so that  I have something to compare it too.
