Very very traumatic last few days..wow where to begin. Monday was the day of my surgery, I don't remember much of the recovery time except for not being able to breathe and being in lots of pain. I woke up the next day in ICU on a ventilator to find out that I had to have emergency open surgery just 6 hours after the lab. bypass. I had a gastric artery rupture but they didn't know until a few hours after the surgery, by then I had lost most of my blood from the internal bleeding and according to my husband looked like a grey pale dead person, he was so scared. I had to have a few pints of blood, and lots of fluid put back into me, my hand is still swollen from an IV that came out of the vein during all of this..they had to place IV port in my neck.Well I have to be honest after all I've been through I do have some regrets now. I know that with each day it will get better, but now that I have the big incision it will be a longer recovery than I expected. I don't even know how to process all that has happened since I've been home from the hospital which was Friday..
