12/13/2002 - WELL I'm finally posting again.... I'm officially ONE WEEK POST-OP and today down 18 POUNDS - can you believe that! This is going so fast....unbelievable... I want to THANK DORI - my special angel from above for keeping you guys posted on my progess and for calling me to check up on my and tell me to WALLLLLKKK! Ha -She is wonderful.... Thanks Dori again!!! First of all surgery was basically a breeze from what I understand - doc said I did great - things looked great and it only took about 45 minutes... Don't remember much about actual surgery - I was awake when they took me in and ask me to move to the operating table - them lights out cub scout.. next thing I knew I was in my room! Who knows how I got there...no idea..! ha - First day was painful but not TOO bad -- if you have had other surgeries - then you will be fine--- no vomiting, nausea or anything - took 2 shots that day and night I believe - then Sat. went for the leak test - PASSED and then came back to the room and got my sister and mom and we went for a walk... I have to thank my family(my mom and sister mainly - my husband, and then my daughter too) for being there for me, they really out did there selfs helping me everystep of the way! I love them dearly! I think I only took 1 pain on Saturday...the Vioxx or Reglaan they were giving me made me sleepy! Sat. went for the Leak test - they make you drink HORRIBLE GROSS DISGUSTING barrium - which is difficult if you had surgery on your big TOE - muchless your STOMACH... so it was nasty.. But I PASSED the test.. Yeah! On to the room where I get to take a shower and put my make up on -(yes, makeup - have you seen me without it) and then go WALK... round and round she goes -- well OK - I only went ONCE.. ha - but that was looooonngg enough... as the day went on I think the meds were wearing off and I was able to get up and down with some help but I could do it ... more walking.... then dinner ... yummy broth(ok I'm kidding)...and water.and gaterade.... more walking.... then basically had to pee all night so NO SLEEP ... and that damn little man came in at 4:00 in the morning to draw blood - well he was a moran and since my veins are collapsed because of the reduced fluids - he can't find a vein - SO NEEDLESS to say - my arms look like big bruised pin cushions... I wanted to HIT him! Sunday the doc said GO HOME but WALK.... ha - I took a pain shot for the road since I dont' have any at home - SHOOT -- and haven't had any pain meds since -so this is tolerable! I'm so happy to be here today - and not having RIGHT NOW any complications - got my drain out on Thursday - and went shopping today... and officially I'm down to 252 pounds today -I couldn't be happier! Thank you Lord for holding my hand!

congratulations Tammy. I went in on a Friday and left Sunday afternoon too. Woo Hoo! You go girl. Take it easy and don't worry about the drain. My pump quick pumping. It just was not getting any suckion I guess. I went into Dr. Naaman's office early the next morning and Pam took the rest of it out. It didn't hurt at all. I was worried because it stopped draining any liquid, but Pam said it was fine. I was done. Remember, take it easy, walk, and drink you liquids. You will do great. Jess
