Tanya C.
Hi! My name is Tanya Clark. I am 32 years old and I have struggled all my life with my weight. I can remember as a child being heavy. While in high school I was on the dance team and I fought so hard everyday to maintain a presentable figure. After I married I gained weight, and then after each of my four children I gained even more weight. So here I am. I am the mother of Justin 11, Cody 9, Zachary 5 and Madison almost 2, and miserably overweight. Two of my children have disablities, Zach was born with Down syndrome and Justin has severe ADHD and bipolar disorder. And while I love all four of my children more than life itself, I have not been putting any effort into keeping myself healthy. So here I sit at 232 lbs, no energy, aching hips, feet and knees and I know that this WLS is the best thing I can do for myself. I want to stop hiding at home. I want to go out and play with my children. I want to go to church and go out with friends and someday soon get a job. I need to do this for me and for my family. I know that it won't solve all my problems, but it will give me back some dignity and a chance to help myself.
I have Tricare insurance. My husband is active duty Air Force and we are currently stationed at McConnell AFB in Kansas. I am going to be traveling to Topeka (about 2 hours away) for my appointments and hopefully surgery at Tallgrass Surgery. I am apprehensive and elated all at the same time. God Bless and have a wonderful day!!
