I am excited!!! May 24th is the day!!! Rachelle called last week and scheduled my pre op for 15May and my actual surgery for 24May. My mom is coming to Wichita to watch the kids for Wednesday night and Thursday. So Brian (the hubby) will get to be there for the surgery. I am a little apprehensive about the 10 day liquid diet, but it is a small hurdle to jump to have WLS.

I checked the Tricare site today and it says APPROVED for bypass surgery!!! I cannot believe it!! I was so worried and so stressed and nervous. And the wait is over!! I have an answer. YES! I am so excited. I still have to finish the psych exam, and then get a date, but I am so on my way!!!1

Well, I finally had my consult with Dr Hamilton. He is a very nice person, very knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. He said I was an excellent candidate for the surgery and said he thought I would be approved. However, now I have to wait on my psych consult. I had my first appointment today and the doctor insists that the exam takes 3-4 visits. Wonder how many it would take if I didn't have such good mental health insurance. So Tallgrass won't submit my information for insurance approval until this psych doc finishes her month long assessment. So frustrating.

Well, I mailed off my packet to Tallgrass surgical yesterday. I have already done a psych eval, so I am just waiting now for a call to set up my first consult. I am so nervous. I don't have any documented comorbidities that Tricare requires. I have had knee, back,hip and ankle pain for years, but I tend not to go to the doctor for it. AHHHH. The waiting is killing me.
