I am the single mom of a 14 yr old daughter. Like most of us here I think, I have been "fat" most of my life. There was one period right before I got pregnant that I lost down to 130 pounds. That was short-lived however, as I was diagnosed with a throid disorder during my first pregnancy visit. I'm hypo which means my metabolism is pretty much non-exsistant. I'm interested to know if anyone else out there is hypo and having the RNY. I have gained and gained and haven't been able to lose no matter what diet I chose. I tried Atkins, Weight Watchers, lowering my calories, and using Xenical. My highest weight has been 262 and I finally decided in January to have the RNY gastric bypass surgery. I went through a month and a half of testing and I finally have a surgery date of 4/17/08. I sincerely hope that this tool helps me to lose the weight and finally become somewhat healthy. Oh and it wouldn't hurt to finally have someone look at me in a normal way once in a while. God Bless!
