Hi Kat, I too researched and prayed and researched and prayed I was doing the right thing.Iam almost 6 weeks post op and it is so nice NOT to have food control me anymore. What hospital are you going to?? I had my surgery done July 15th at Presbyterian Dallas. I have lost around 24 lbs. I tell my husband frequently I will never be this big again and it's a great feeling knowing that is fact and I won't be. If you have any questions or need advice Iam here take care ,Mari

Congratulations, Your big day is next and then you will be on the losing side. Try to hang in there and stay focused and take one day at a time. Remember your AMOS friends are always here for support. 24-7. I read todays post and I agree with you. Do or die,LOL. that's how I felt at the time. I had come to the end of my rope concerning my weight. and I didn't care how or what I needed to do. WLS answered my prayers, You hang in there girlie and your friend shouldn't had laid that on you like that. maybe she will come around when she learn more on the subject. I have 2 nurses in my family also and thought that wls was a instant killer with to many high risk. until I stood my ground and educated them plus they did their own research also, One is now talking about having it also. so again hang in there and try to focus and think POSITIVE at all times~*~Hugs~*~

Kat, don't know if you are interested, but you can view my LOMN (Letter of Medical Necessity) of my profile if you'd like to get ideas. If it's just that your PCP does not agree with you having WLS, then I would just find another person that will. Oftentimes (depending on your presonal financial situation) you may just have to see another doctor outside of your insurance network~not always the best thing to do, but it couldn't hurt. DON'T GIVE UP!!!
