My goodness it has been almost 4 wks since I have posted!  I just have been so busy with work and my girls schedule...church etc...
On Monday (11/24) I had my 2nd adjustment, it was much less painful than the 1st!  I was not sore at all this time....yea! 
I have some restriction now which is great!!!!  I have lost a total of 40 lbs so far...which I think is just awesome! 
I did go through a couple of wks with a Lupus flair and was in so much pain I was struggling to just function at bare minimum speeds...but went back on prednisone and full doses of other meds and after about 2 wks ...I am finally feeling much better!  I hope everyone has a super Thanksgiving!
I have so much to be thankful for...Praise GOD!

Sorry it's been several weeks since I have updated.  I have lost 32 pounds since surgery on 9/4/08...kinda of slowed down over the last few weeks but thats ok.  I have really been struggling with some Lupus issues and joint pain and swelling, today I started to feel some better hopefully on the way back to normal.
I have been really hungry over the last couple of weeks, I am really struggling with that, trying to control portion size etc...
I really enjoyed meeting several OH members at PF Changs in Birmingham last weekend for dinner.

Well, I got my 1st fill /  band adjustment today!  I am so excited...I have lost 26 pounds so far which is great!  But I have been very hungry for about 1 1/2 weeks....
I believe I got a 2cc fill this afternoon, I will be on liquids for 48 hours, it hurt a little, more pain when he was mashing on my stomach trying to locate the port...but he got it first try in and out..I seem to be a little nauseated since leaving the office...I'm sure that will pass....I was only in the office about 20 min today! WOW!!!

Well, I am 4 weeks post op now and still losing...down 21 pounds so far!  I had hoped to lose more during the 1st month but I am excited about the 21 pounds!  I am starting to have a little more energy now.
I am having a Lupus Flair this week, my legs hurt really bad, kidney infection etc...I called my Rheumatologist and he was out of town this week and his nurse was too...so I had to go see my GP.  She took care of me...gave me a shot of prednisone (I hate prednisone ), some antibiotics and some different pain med's and I am starting to feel some better, I think??

I don't want to weigh though because of the prednisone I know I probably have gained 1 or 2 pounds..of water weight!  I am so swelled up!  Thank you prednisone!

I go for my first fill TUESDAY!!!!  Yea!!!!  I am so excited, for the last week I have been starving !!!!  I have done pretty good I think...trying to control the urge to eat!  I have pretty much stuck to 3 meals a day, like a good lap band patient!  I hope I get enough of a fill to make a difference!

Wow, I can't believe I am already 3 weeks post op!   I have been doing much better.  Up until today I haven't really been hungry just drinking protein shakes and eating small meals. 
Today, for the 1st time since surgery I am hungry!  I have tried to control it and not think about it today...but it is really hard!  

I am so tickled because during week 2, I didn't really loose any weight and I was a little down about that ...I was more excited during the 3rd week, I started losing again!  I think during any diet the 2ND week is when the body is adjusting to new eating habits etc...

I go back to Dr. Bilton on October 7, for my 1st fill !!!  I can't wait...I just hope I am not starving until then, maybe today was just a fluke and I won't be starving for the next 1 1/2 weeks until Dr appt.

Well I am 2 weeks out today, haven't lost any more still at 17 lbs...but that is ok!  Been very tired lately, I am going back on my Lupus meds today.  I believe the fatigue is due to that. 
I am able to eat just about anything now...I am not very hungry, which is a good thing....If I eat to fast and swallow air...I can't seem to burp some times and end up vomiting so I can burp...not much fun! 
I am going to start walking today....I hope I don't change my mind! lol!....
Well I need to get back in bed and finish resting, I will be very busy at work today....have a great day!!!

I am feeling much better!  Yea!  We have had the stomach flu at our house for over a week...the last person my husband now has it....3rd day ..almost over now!

I started running fever yesterday evening 100.5 - 101, called Dr. Biltons office this morning..they had me come in at 2:00 to check that.  Got some antibiotics...but the great news is I have lost 15 lbs.!!!  Yea!

I went to work this morning until I went to the doctor at 2 then I went home, to rest.  Very tiring day....but I will do it again tomorrow...

Hello everyone,  I got home from the hospital around 1 today.

My surgery went well it took almost 3 1/2 hrs, Dr Bilton sd he was gonna charge me double because it took twice as long because of all the adhesion's and scar tissue. 
I am so excited to be on the "losers bench" now...In alot of pain and a good bit of nausea...but its getting better as time goes on...

Only 3 days to go, I am so excited!  I cleaned all day on Sunday and will do more on Monday (mostly laundry on Monday)  trying to make sure everything is done for "S' (Surgery) day!


I took my girls to Mississippi yesterday to visit my family.  Went to my brothers home, my parents and another brother came over.  The kids swam with one of their cousins for hours...they had a great time, which was nice.  We will not have another chance to "go home" until probably late November or December, because my oldest daughter is a cheerleader and all of their little league games are on Saturday mornings. 

My family had lots of questions for me about the surgery.  My sister-in-law asked more about the diet afterward.  I guess I just think they know what it consists of ... she is an RN and so is my brother.  I guess if that is not the area you work in, you really don't know much about it.

My brothers car was stolen out of his driveway sometime between Friday night and Saturday night....they have such a great attitude about it, it was just amazing...they kept saying there was a Bible, IPOD, Preaching tape, and Rod's backpack which of course had 2 checkbooks and work stuff in it...maybe with the Bible on the seat they might get saved...which would be a blessing!  I hope....
