Just got back from Florida

Mar 06, 2008

Called the Dr.'s office and it was the same story they told me before I left, they were getting the psch evaluation paper work together to be submitted. I was a little stressed....ok, alot, so I emailed them how I was feeling and they were nice and emailed back that TriCare requires alot of paper work and it is important to get everything submitted right the first time to get an approval.  I know... I understand where they are coming from and patience has never been my forte'.  I'd rather everything be submitted right and get an approval right away.  So, anyway....it is getting faxed to them today and Tri-care usually takes about a week.  Lord knows I am working on my patience!  i bought liquid vitamins and they should be at my house when I get home and I purchased micro filtered whey portein today. unflavored and Chocolate.  I have been doing Atkins shakes for lunch....I hear upping protein before surgery helps with healing....so i am trying to do the right things!

Anyway...hoping for a date soon!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me.

It's important that I remember this every day!  I am going to a Valentine's Dance tonight.  I wanted to wear my pretty red dress that I last wore 3 years ago on a cruise but I tried it on and it looks awful...like I've poured myself into it.  Just another eason why I can't wait to have this surgery and get my eating in control.  I love to go out and dance and we finally have a chance and nothing fits.  It sucks!

My first posting on this journey

Feb 08, 2008

It's Saturday Feb 9, 2008.  I have been having trouble sleeping and waking up very early.  I think it's because I am so excited about everything that's happening right now.  I know that the next month and a half are going to fly by!  So far I have had all of my blood tests, preliminary sleep lab (which showed I have sleep apnea) a colonoscopy and upper scope and met with the Bariatric Team that will be handling my surgery. They have a dietician, nurcing staff, exercise coordinator and surgeon.  I go for my psch evaluation on Wednesday and back to be fitted to cpap machine on the 19th.  My surgeon is absolutely sure he will get approval from my insurance company.  at time of visit I weighed 214 and BMI was 38.  I am currently 207 amd BMI 37 and they wanted me to try to lose weight before surgery even though I am considered a light weight, to try to be as healthy as possible before surgery. I am excited and nervous at the same time.

My husband is tall and thin and one of those people who can eat anything and never gain an ounce.  he has no idea what my struggles are.  He is un-attracted to me and of course I find that very depressing.  When I am depressed, I turn to food and it's a vicious circle.  I am praying that I will be a success story and he will be attracted to me and our relationship will improve.
