Wondering how I did it!?

May 04, 2011

Well here I am again... Wondering how I did it when I was losing successfully?
I'm trying my best to lose weight again... and I realized that I can successfully lose the weight if I live on  A protein shake & crystal light all day. We all know that just isn't the way to do it!

I'm feeling as frustrated as I was prior to WLS... and I'm 4 days away from my 3 yr surgiversary. I should be at goal by now.. Nope.. I still have 50 lbs to go! The pressure is really on being that I am getting married in 5 mos of course I want to look the best I can for my wedding. There are often times I wish that I had RNY rather then the band, but at this point, I'm feeling like a lost cause. I'm a WLS failure. Sure I went from a size 24 to a 12... but now I'm up a size and can't seem to get anything off me. I'll tell you one thing I am a professional at ... GAINING weight. I can do it with the blink of an eye.

I walked 9 miles yesterday in hopes of jump starting myself. I've changed so many things including giving up coffee AKA one of the loves of my life!
Today I had a 32 gram Oh Yeah Protein shake over 2 meals, some unsalted peanuts, grilled chicken over a salad and 2 mini banana muffins. I've drak about 70 oz of fluids and I don't know what else to do! Any advice is appreciated!!
I'm at a loss!

Back at It! :)

Apr 17, 2011

Well here we gooooooo.....................

I've been off the wagon for quite a while! Now it's crunch time ... 6 months 2 days until I have the wedding of my dreams with the love of my life. I'm focusing on me again! Today we went to Mrs. Greens and bought some edamame and I'm feeling good about incorporating new things into my diet. I was just looking at my weight tracker and realized I have gained 15 lbs since last April... good thing I'm catching myself now before it's 50! So back on track I go! :)

I've also realized recently that if I don't eat healthy, I feel like crap. I'm tired of being tired, feeling like crap and wondering why. I'm worth so much more then to give into that yucky feeling!

So I'm pretty excited to be back to OH too and people who can relate to me! I will be 3 years out from Lap Band Surgery in May.  The next 6 months should prove to be very productive! :)

Feeling like a bullemic

Dec 11, 2010

I hope that by coming to post my feelings it will help me and hopefully not too many people will jump all over me. I have 40 lbs to lose to get me to goal. I'm recently engaged and I'd love to lose the last 40 prior to getting into a wedding gown. I know.. typical woman. However, I've learned I could eat crap and it goes down but I can't eat real food. I know everyone will say have some taken out of your band.. however, my port has issues and I'm not willing to go through that. So I think I'm gonna live on Liquid protein shakes for a while. Any real food I eat seems to get stuck and I end up with pain and have to pull the trigger. Not exactly what I like.. but god I love the relief it brings me. I'm now frustrated with food. I hate getting sick...
All opinions are welcome. Be easy on me please!

11 Weeks Post Op- My 1st Plateau

Jul 28, 2008

Waaaaa! My First Plateau is here!
I've been stuck at the same weight for almost 3 weeks.
I know everyone says that they will pass but since this is the first one I'm going through I feel horrible about it. I'm blaming myself as if I did something wrong. I know that I've been eating fine. I typically have a protein bar or 2 a day and 3-4 oz of cheese, and then 3-4 oz of meat for dinner. I know I'm not eating anything bad, but I'm wondering what could be hindering my loss? I was supposed to have my bloodwork re-run for my thyroid but I haven't made the attempt to get the scripts and go to the lab. My endocrinologist appointment is the end of the week so I guess I should hurry up. I'm so frustrated.

When I get really stressed out I have "Episodes." I haven't had an "episode" since prior to surgery. Don't you know this afternoon I had one. My Episodes make me feel weak, faintish, nauseas, dizzy, headache, light affects me and at that point all I can do is lay down and sleep it off. I slept it off for 2 hours today and woke up feeling better but still sick.  I'm so sick to my stomach, I wish I would vomitt to just feel better. I don't know if I'm stressing the fact that I'm STUCK at this weight... or if it's other things going on in my life?  I just don't know what's bothering me to cause this.
Please sprinkle some fairy dust on me to get that scale moving D-O-W-N again!

10 Weeks Post- 3rd Fill

3rd Fill done!
Current mood: accomplished

Well today I had another appointment with my surgeon and got another fill! They told me they were going to put in another cc and when he did he said now I have 5.2 cc's in my 10 cc band. I am feeling some restriction and I'm thankful for this fill! I'm down 40 lbs total.

I really need to to start getting my butt to the gym. It's quite hard to do when the kids are out of school for the summer. We are living a much more active lifestyle, but I'm not getting the excercise in. =( I guess I need to focus more on me!

2nd Fill- 7 Weeks Out

2nd Fill - 7 Weeks out
Current mood: bouncy

Just got home from the doctor's office...

I told them how I've been hungry and don't feel any restriction etc. He said.. Yep it's time for another fill. I explained to him how I got 2 cc's filled 2 weeks ago and that put me at 4.5-5 cc's in my band total... Correct? He said.. One fill and 5 ccs? I said well the Fellow told me that I had 3 cc's put in during surgery. He said.. NO NO NO... We don't put anything in during surgery. So then when my surgeon went to do my fill (which was MUCH easier then the last one) He sucked out all the fluid that was in there and then pushed that back in plus 2.5 cc's. He said NOW I have 4.5 cc's total in there. He offered to put in  .5 cc's to make it an even 5 but we didn't want to do too much at once. Good news is that I lost 8 lbs in the past 2 weeks!! YAY for me!

According to their records I have lost 21 lbs since surgery 5/9/08. I had lost 14 lbs pre-op so that totals 35 lbs lost FOREVER!! Funny thing is... Usually I get upset about "losing" things. To my surprise I'm Happy that I LOST the 35 lbs of fat and can't find it! I hope I never find it! LOL

We also figured out that my 2 home scales aren't weighing me correctly. CRAZY! Now I have to figure that out!!

:)

Thank you for reading! I feel well! I just had a 4 oz protein shake and am FULL! :) I guess it really does work!!

Today I was looking at myself in the mirror of the building of the doctor's office (the whole building is mirrored) and I was looking saying.. Wow I actually look half way decent now! I felt kinda skinny. I'm still heavy.. but much thinner!!

:) XOXO...

Will post new pics in a few!
