Well I had my four week check up yesterday and have lost a total of 30 pounds in four weeks. WOW!!!

Well today I am 3 weeks post op. Things continue to get better daily which is a blessing. I am still having problems with my lower left side sometimes the pain is pretty bad but I just focus on something else. I have been able to eat a little food since my two week check up last Thursday. I was all excited only to find out I don't really want anything so trying to eat a little for each meal which has been a quarter of a cup or maybe a little less of what they allow. I go for my four week check up next Thursday and was told they will start me on some seafood. 

At my 2 week check up last week I weighed 199.5 which I thought was very good. I was contemplating buying a scale for at home but have decided not to right now, I will just wait until my follow up visits to see where I am.  I am working at getting my walking up to 3 miles a day and am anxiously waiting to be able to go to the fitness center at my job to workout daily.  

Today I am four days post op and feeling okay. I have already gotten in my first 24 grams of protein and walked a mile this morning. Of course I have to hold my tummy on one side because of the pain but that is only a minor thing. I had my surgery Thursday May 22nd and came home the hospital Saturday evening May 24th. I must admit Thursday and Friday I was in such bad pain I was wondering what I had done to myself of course Saturday I was feeling better and not questioning my surgery.

This time next week I will be at St Mary's..........and on my way to the other side. I saw Dr Bautista Tuesday and when they weighed me I had lost 5 pounds since the Thursday before.........so the liver shrinking diet is coming along.

I keep waiting on the nervousness to start but so far I just feel excited and so ready to have the surgery. I am going to pack my suitcase this weekend and go get the other things I need for when I come home from the hospital.

The posts and forums I have read have really been an inspiration. I am feeling so lucky to be able to participate with such wonderful people.    

I did all of my pre op testing yesterday............I had a full day of it from 10:30am until 4:20pm. Everything went well it just took a while. I startd the pre op liver shrinking diet on my own Tuesday 5/5 and it is going well, I am drinking Boost Glucose Control for my meal replacement and have not had a problem with feeling hungry. 

Wow finally less than two weeks to go............I feel like a child waiting on Christmas I am so excited. I haven't had any second thoughts or any nervousness or fear. I am so very thankful for this opportunity to improve my life quality and my health................good bye diabetes medication!!!!!!!

Wow the time has definitely flown. I am counting down the days to my surgery...................3 weeks and 3 days to go. I went to the cardiologist on the 23rd and he cleared me for my surgery, then attended the 4 hour class which was really good. 

I am so thankful for this opportunity.  

Wow today I got my pre-op intinerary today, looks like I will be busy so the time should fly by.
 
Here is my itinerary: 

April 23rd- Cardiac Evaluation 2:30pm, Informational Class, Dietary Class, and Behavior Modification class 4:00pm till 8:00pm May 8,2008- Abdominal Ultrasound 10:30am, Physical with Nurse Practioner 1:00pm and Pre-registration and lab work at the hospital 2:00pm May 13th- Appointment with Dr Bautista 11:00am May 22nd- Surgery 10:30am arrive at the hospital at 8:30am

It will soon become a reality. In one month and eight days I will begin the  process.

I am so excited I finally have a date.........May 22nd.

I finally got my approval 03/04/08 and then got the official letter in the mail on 03/06/08. Whoo Hooo!!!! I am waiting to get my surgery date still don't have that but figure early next week I should be getting it. Wow seems like it has taken forever to get my approval but in the end........it will be worth it.

This has been the best week and weekend.......can't rain on my parade.

Hi everyone hope all is well and your week is going smoothly. I am still playing the waiting game. My surgeons office resubmitted everything to my insurance company on 2/13/08 as I had to have a letter of recommendation from my PCP. Now I am just waiting and waiting and hoping and praying. I
am positive that it will be well worth the wait in the end.

I had the best surprise this weekend, my daughter and granddaughter drove to Richmond to spend some time with me, it was fabulous. The fact that my daughter drove from SC to VA by herself in itself if wonderful(she hates driving) she has never driven this far before...........well okay it is only 320 miles but still a very long ride. We had a blast, I took her through her first tunnel...........she had me and my granddaughter laughing so hard. Yep Madison is a pro with the tunnels my daughter was definitely another story.
