Well my surgeons office submitted my paperwork 2/04/08 to my insurance and on 02/06/08 rec'd a letter my inurance is requesting a letter of recommendation from my PCP. I have an appointment with PCP 02/12/08 to have checkup for my diabetes and high cholesterol and to get the letter. So hopefully all will go well and I will get my approval next week an if I am lucky maybe a surgery date very soon. It will all be worth the wait I am sure.  

I would like to have a beautiful blog site like so many of you have, so if anyone can help with making this happen it would very gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

I had my first appointment yesterday with the NP at the surgeon's office. They weighed me (218) (BMI 36.2) and explained the RNY and asked about my medical history. The will be submitting my paperwork for approval the beginning of the week so.....................hopefully next week I will find out I am approved. I have never been excited about a doctors appt but I was excited about my appointment yesterday. I hope soon I will be on the losing side.

I found out what type of vitamin supplements I will be taking so today I am going to buy them so I have a start on the things I will need post op. I am not one of those last minute people and really like things to be well organized so this will be a start.

A friend of mine made me cry last night, he asked me if he could please be there with me for my surgery.................go figure. I kinda wanted to do the hospital thing by myself. All my family is in SC and I figure they have not bothered to come up here to see me the three years I have been living in Richmond so don't really need them up here for that.  I have really gotten very independent since moving here and used to being by myself(no stress)which is good after living in hell for 20 years. My children are grown, I am single, and it is time for me now.

I am having my first visit with the surgeons office tomorrow. I will be seeing the nurse practitioner. Finally..........seems like it has taken forever. I am really excited about this appointment and am hoping everything goes well. I am so encouraged by the blogs I have been reading............hope is alive and the new possibilities seem endless.

I have a friend at work that is also seeking to has WLS so I think we will be good support for one another through this. That is a big plus because she is really a great person.
