Surgery Date
Jul 30, 2016
Can't believe it but my date has been set for Aug 17, I'm so excited but also nervous. My stomach has been doing flip flops since I found out. So much to do to get ready. Am I mentally ready for this? The entire process has been less than 5 months for me.
Have my date!

I met with the surgeon this morning and am booked for Aug 17 in Hamilton. So excited and nervous at the same time.
Appointments have stopped
Jun 08, 2016
Well after all the rushing around over the last couple of months my appointments have now stopped. Waiting to see what is next. Need to talk to Kim at the Wharton clinic to out what the process is from here. I'm hoping to meet a surgeon sometime before I go away in July. Maybe get a date for August.
More appointments done

Wow can't believe how many appointments I have had lately. Yesterday alone I had my follow up to my colonoscapy a second meeting with the dietitian and my stress test. Everything is looking good so far. Meet with Dr. Wharton tomorrow to see how I am tolerating the new med as I gradually increase it. I am pretty sure that I have just to meet with a surgeon and go to the nutrition class and pre op. Oh yah and the opti fast phase. Looks like I will be using Boost for diabetics and adding extra protien. Lucky me! Considering I only started March 31, 2016 it's been really quick. If it were up to them. My sugery would be in June. I have to push it back to the end of July after I get back from my trip to Irland. My car seems to know where to go in Hamilton it has been there so many times.
Night out with friends
May 15, 2016
Went out with my good friend that has been negative about the surgery. I don't know what happened but she was actually not as negative this time. I was really nervous and didn't want to bring my progress up but it eventually came up and she was really nice about it. Good thing because we are travelling together for the long weekend and it could make it very difficult. The new med I'm on Saxenda doesn't seem to be giving me much problem. I have to increase the dose tomorrow. Lots of appointment coming up after the long weekend. Things are moving along quickly.
New medication
May 11, 2016
Met with Dr. Wharton the other day and he says my blood sugar is on the high side so he suggested an injectable medication to help with it. Not insulin. One side effect is it makes you feel full and you loose weight. The only problem is the cost. It's over $400 a month. Luckily my husband is very supportive and says to go for it even if it is not covered by his drug plan(it's not). I will be on it for a short time. Only a couple months until I have the WLS. Been on it two days and I'm not hungry.
More appointments

Ok I've had the colonoscopy and scope yesturday and I have an appointment with the internist Monday morning. My husban is coming with me for that. I have a hard time putting down on paper what I eat. They suggest an app but I find them to be too much of a hassel. I think I will just do it the old fashon way with pen and paper.
Appointments done and more booked
Apr 19, 2016
well I've met with the counsellor the other day, did my bloodwork, had my ultrasound and started back getting used to my C pap machine. Now I have an appointment booked for a consult to get the scope and colonoscopy done and see the dietitian. Oh and I've lost 10 lbs since I started changing my diet to high protien low carbs. So happy things are moving
Plugging along.

ultra sound done. Also had to have my c pap machine looked at to make sure it is working ok. Don't really want to use it but what I want and what I need to do are two different things. Got a newer mask so I hope this make it possible to sleep in my stomach. The tech said because it's smaller I should have no trouble with it. Time will tell.
I was hungry for chips the other day and because I have been so good watching what I eat I bought myself some ketchup Doritos. Ate them in small amounts over a few days. Done. It's been three weeks now since I have had a Pepsi. I'm very proud of that. Have not even craved it. I even cut out cafeine in my tea. The decaf stuff is not as good but it's not bad either.
