I work at a local hospital as a CNAII and my wife and I have been accepted into the nursing program at Lenoir Rhyne College. I guess it all started around Christmas when my family went out to a bbq place to eat ribs. It was all you can eat, and I was enjoying the food. After several reorders my daughter said "how much are you going to eat." Needless to say that ended the meal and put a damper on the evening. that plus seeing so many pts. come into the ed with breathing problems, not being able to walk as well as other things I decided at 420 lbs to do something. I have had my physical with my PCP already, and next week I go for my psyh. eval. I would not be telling the truth if I said I was not a little scared, but at the same time I am very excited. I look forward to the day I can go into Walmart and buy a pair of jeans.I know that after surgery there will be a total lifestyle change, but I believe the end result will be worth it. I talked with one of the er doctors I work closely with at great lengths about the surgery, and he told me that if he was me he would have the surgery. This made me feel alot better as I value his opinion. As I progress to a date I will post what is happening.
