Life A I Knew It Before Surgery:
Ive always had a weight problem that  I can remember being the big kid of the class and of the school come to think  and my weight problem has dogged me all my life  I started my first diet at nine years old and many years of diets and dietitions too come to think of it    Back in June 2005  at that stage I weighted in at 454lbs or 207kgs and the Doctors classified me Super Morbidly Obese and I had a BMI of 65 and I had a number of co-morbidities  Diabetes, Chronic Sleep Apnea, High blood pressure, Right bundle branch blockage in the heart also had joint pain and fatigued easily from my vast weight and I had cancer and had the cancer surgically removed from my body  but couldnt participate in further treatments for it because of my weight  also I couldnt the have CT Scans  which where required to monitor if the cancer had come back or not because I was too heavy for the machine  My life was very limited  I could hardly move the weight and lifestyle was slowly killing me I was eating myself to death it was a real downward spiral and I was living to eat  and not eating to live   if I would of not had surgery I couldnt say if I would be here today but I can say this my life wouldnt be like it is today

Life As I Know It Now & In The Future:
In the 3.5 years since having the surgery I've been able to lose about 220lbs or 100kgs and now have a BMI of 34.7 And now Im half the man I was (LOL)  Also turn my life and health around  Now I can say  the diabetes and the cancer are in remission and I dont have sleep apnea either and my blood pressure is excellent  and I can do anything I want and need to do now the surgery has made this possible and I dont have the joint pain and the fatigue from carrying that heavy weight around like I use too  So this chance ive been given has changes my life for the better and now im learning to live life to the fullest    If you would ask me would I have the surgery again  I wouldnt hesitate  I would do it again Now I wish I had of done this sooner in life instead of wasting so many years in denial

Wiizdom:
You can’t change the past but you can ruin the present by worrying about the future
The past is history the future Is a mystery so live for
now

Life isn’t a dress rehearsal live life to The FULLEST & be the BEST YOU can be for yourself, family and friends

If you think your ready ask yourself honestly these hard questions:
1.       Am I ready to change my whole life?
2.       Am I willing to give yourself a lifelong commitment?
3.       How badly do I want to change?
4.       Am I willing to do whatever it takes to be successful?

The Weight Loss Journey Wiizdom:
Weight loss is a journey of steps and battles that you can win if you set your goals and most of all be patient with yourself and try to stay optimistic on you achievements with weightloss and the exercise they are milestone markers that you can you to to inspire yourself to carry on when things get damn hard and you feel you have had little to no progress and always look back at where you came from and look at what you can do now since you started your journey Also find support networks to help you see the good work you have done.

Pre Op Wiizdom:
You need to get as fit a you can prior to surgery this will allow you to recover sooner  You dont have to he able to run a marathon run  just do what you can as often as you can and what will also lesson the risk while having surgery and while your are recovering from the surgery

Weight Loss Surgery Wiizdom:
Surgery is only a TOOL to lose weight and what is ultimately required to lose weight and Lifestyle change a balance of Diet & Exercise to be really successful

Exercise Wiizdom:
When exercising find an activity that your body and body shape allows you to do and that you like doing   Listen to your body not your head   and gradually increase what you’re doing but don’t overdo it you will be less likely to continue doing it again and get disheartened   Remember how ever how hard the exercise feels at the time of doing it the sense of achievement when completed is a bigger buzz   Regular exercise will help you to head stay focused  also find a buddy that you can exercise with

Weight Loss Goals Wiizdom:
To set yourself small acheiveable goal and revise those goals regularly don’t try to lose all the weight at once Remember that weight loss may not be measurable by the scales  such as tape measure  how you feel or how your clothes fit  for further help with goal setting and motivation try  http://www.goal-setting-college.com/

Head Stuff Wiizdom:
The Head can be a powerful ally in your weight loss journey it also can be your downfall too But remember if you fall off the wagon you need get back on straight way and don’t be hard on yourself your only human  Also surgery doesnt fix the head stuff you still have to deal with the demons of the past with stratagies that you have to delevop to deal with your demons

Staying Focused Wiizdom:
To help stay focused would be to write a personal diary and write in how you feel when you achieve your mile stone or goals  or when things dont go so well  and reflect on them when you need some inspiration and motivation in the diary be blunt and honest with yourself  i suggest you use a exercise book  the you can use the front for the good feelings and acheievements and the back for the bad things and when arent so good and refer back to them as you need them. take time to reflect on how far you have come

Maintence Of Weight Loss Wiizdom:
It Is important to be vigilant  with your weight its so easy to put back on and so damn hard to get back off  and the long before you get control of the more damage you can do so what i suggest I'd to maintain your weight give your self a couple of pounds leeway and when you get to that leeway point you need to go back to basics and look your diet and activity levels Then adjust the activity level and diet accordingly just remember to burn  more calories than you consume

Food Wiizdom:
Its important to make sure you get as much protien as you can into your diet  the benefits of protein are  that it takes longer to digest and keeps you fuller longer than fats and carbs  and for people who have gastic bypass its very import to get all your protein into your diet
