2011

Sep 19, 2011

I can honestly say that 2011 has been a relearning year.  I have had to relearn to walk, yes, walk....I had spent 4 months in the hospital last year bloated up and unable to walk.  A year of physical and occupational therapy and I can move around freely now-sometimes just using a cane.

I am still glad I had they RNY--that is still the most asked question.  I missed my son's graduation from college last year, but I have been able to watch him grow into a man this year.  He joined the USAF and my husband and I where able to go see him graduate from basic training.  He went from being an "old" teenager to a young man.  I honestly feel that if it hadn't been for the RNY, I would have not been able to make the trip.  If the weight didn't kill me, the hypertension or diabetes would have.

I am very proud of my son.  He knew that just having a college degree wasn't a sure thing....he knew that working as a shift manager at a theater wasn't going to get him anywhere in life.  He is currently in training to be an "in-flight" air refueler.  It is not a job that I would have chose--but he is happy and doing great.

I am glad I turned 46.  I can honestly say I am looking to 47:)
