Hi, My name is Angela I am 41 years old, I have a wonderful husband, we have been married for 18 years, he has always been supportive .He has always told me he loves me no matter what (even if I got as big as a house). While I am thankful for such support, it does not help to lose weight like that.

I have 2 outstanding kids. My daughter is 17 (she unfortunately is like me, in every aspect....personality and weight) and my son is 14, ( I am doing this for them as well as me, I want to be able to do things with them, and enjoy vacations without the struggle) they are the best kids in the world! (Really!!) I know I sound like a Mom...but they are truly great kids....respectful and well mannered and well behaved......ok enough bragging on my kids...It wasn't anything I did...it is all God! I am very active in my Church, My husband and I are the praise and worship leaders as well as helping out with the youth.

I became chunky in my teens, and after my daughter was born I never saw under 200lbs again!! I have battled with the weight since then, I had knee surgery in 2000 due to the excess weight. I'm a stress eater, big time!!..So I have to learn how to deal with stress differently after surgery.

I was persueing the weight-loss surgery in 2000 when my Dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, I stepped back from the surgery to take care of my Dad and deal with the loss of him on July 24, 2001. I knew I was not emotionally stable enough to deal with all that came with the weight-loss surgery.

Fast forward to the present., my husband, kids and myself were on a mini-vacation May 2009 and I struggled to walk around with them had pain in the calf of my left leg (I had a blood clot in that same place after my knee surgery in 2000) so when we got back I had to go to the ER and have it checked in case of a blood clot.......my hubby told me that if it wasn't a blood clot then he supported me if I chose to persue weight-loss surgery...that was all I was waiting for his support....

So in July of 2009 I started my 6 months with a weight-loss center for the requirements the Insurance sets forth. I finished my dr. controlled weight loss and diatician requirements for Insurance in January of 2010....I was approved for surgery in March 2010...But the Hospital was not approved by the Insurance, so I had to transfer to a new surgeon and Hospital.....I did that on September 7, 2010. I got my date for surgery on October 4, 2010.....so I will be seeing you on the losers bench on October 25th.

October 25th 2010 I went into the Cabell-Huntington Hospital under Dr. Blaine Neas's surgical team, everything went well during surgery and  for the past 2 1/2 months.

I began this journey in June of 2009 at the weight of 257.9lbs I folowed thru with the Doctors observed weight loss and lost down to 227.7lbs in those 6 months. While waiting to get approved and then transferring to the new surgeon I gained back up to 245lbs (in 9 months!!)  The Friday before my surgery I weighed in at 241.9lbs.

I am now currently (January 7, 2011) weighing 203.6lbs as of this morning.  I haven't had any complications in regards to the surgery to this point, however I have had two episodes with some pretty wicked Hemmeroids......this last time I ended up in the hospital ER and got steroid shots in the Hemmroid...(it numbed it for about 5 hours) They want to surgically remove it (but I'm holding off) I want to get recovered from my last surgery (VSG) before having anymore!!

I am enjoying this wild ride!!  I am so grateful that God made it possible for me to have this done...I can get my life back now and step outside the box and venture farther in my adventures...
