Before you consider colon cleansing to lose weight have you done everything possible to break the plateau? Have you been keeping track of when you lose weight? What may seem like a plateau, may be just the body's attempt at "catching up" with what you're doing. I am almost 5 months and have fallen into a pattern of maintaining for 2 weeks then losing 10 pounds in 1 week. Then I go back to that pattern. Once I realized that that is what my body is doing (after a lifetime of overeating, eating the wrong things etc, it is making a stubborn attempt at adjusting) -- I feel a little better. Anyway, if you are getting in a minimum of 60 g of protein and 64 oz of water a day, add 8 more oz of water and 30 more g of protein (essentially, a 3rd shake if you can tolerate it) for 2 weeks and see what happens. Also, how's your exercise? I'm sure these are all things that you know already. But take advantage of this time you have to get acclimated to a system of good diet and exercise habits. HABITS!!! Once you get into the habit, it will help you later when the weight loss slows. And that will happen. Good luck and God Bless!

sounds risky to me!!! I havent had surgery yet, but at our meeting several people say that when you hit a plateau, lay off ALL SWEETS, ALL WHITE STUFF: STARCHES LIKE , RICE, NOODLES, FLOUR, SPAGETTI, POTATOES, but usually during this time you are losing INCHES!!!! So relax dont let the plateaus scare you I had them even when i lost weight "dieting" and things are going on in your body that might need to "catch up".

I agree with Barb below. Using a colon cleansing (enema) just to lose a few pounds is like sticking your finger down your throat to vomit, or taking laxatives. Don't do it!!! You'll hit many plateaus, and you've got another year and a half of losing weight. Just keep doing all the right things, and you'll lose weight. If you can't loose, ask your doctor about an upper GI series to check out the pouch, staple line, etc. Good luck!
