Dr. McKane is a very friendly man. I was nervous when I entered his office but he quickly put me at ease. rnI am impatient wanting to have my surgery ASAP but he is being very thorough. I feel I am safe and in good hands. The staff at Arnot Medical Center have been very patient with me and they are doing their very best to keep things moving along. So far the journey has been a good experience and everyone there has been so supportive and kind. rnDr. Mckane took the time to explain everything to me in the first visit. I have seen him only twice but have complete confidence in him.

very straight and to the point. only first consultation. ok. just basic facts. yes they have a structured program. yes he addresses all the risks as well as national statistics and his personal stats. 9 out of 10 rating overall, because no smiles.

I was alittle taken aback when Dr. McKane walked in the room and stated that I "was not chubby enough for the surgery" that is until he looked at how much I actually weighed! i love Dr. McKane and everyone in his office. they are extremely professional and helpful.

Dr. McKane what can I say; a great guy who has performed an operation that could make me a healthy young person again. He and his office staff are all great and are there whenever you need something. I couldn't have found a better place to go.

dr mc cane is a great doctor, up front with you about the surgery. easy to talk to great sense of humor, caring. tells you up front, the mistakes that he has made involving previous surgeries. no hidden mistakes.

My first impression of Dr. McKane was that he had a wonderful sence of humor, and this impression didn't change over time. His office staff are very competent, efficient and friendly. He was very upfront with all of the risks involved, including national averages and his own averages. His office has a complete system for office visits before and after surgery along with monthly support group meetings where one of his staff is present. I would give him an excellent rating and reference to anyone who is looking for a surgeon. His bedside manner and surgical skill are both top notch and that is what you are looking for in a surgeon!

12/6/04 Met with Dr. McKane. He is great, very knowledgable about what he does. He is right to the point and matter of fact. Answers most of the questions you might have before you ask. All of the staff with whom I interacted were fantastic. I felt very welcome and comfortable. His seating area is set up to accommodate larger patients comfortably. How nice it was to sit in a seat without feeling cramped!! He is very upfront, maybe even blunt on the risks of the surgery. He has a very structured aftercare which he emphasized is aided by your personal commitment to the outcome of the surgery. In my opinion, the impression I received is that if you don't do your part, the surgery won't help. This surgery is not an automatic cure, it is to assist you in your quest to lose weight. I would rate him 10+.

Dr.McKane is a very nice man. He is very informative and upfront. In the beginning he is all business but after chatting with you for a while he's very personable. He and his partner have done 750 of these surgeries and have only had one death so I feel very comfortable with him. I would recommend him to anyone.

I had my consultation with Dr. McKane today. My first impression was that he gets right to the point with no hesitation. My impression as time went on is that he is a kind man with a great sense of humor. The office and staff all appear to be nice and pleasant. I do not have negative feedback at all. I am very pleased and am looking forward to the next step. Dr. McKane does tell you the the porcedure can fail if you do not follow the aftercare and structured diet. Based on my first visit I would rate Dr. McKane very high and I look forward to completing this process with him.
