My First impression of Dr. Mckane was that he was a very nice and straight forward person, this impression of him has never changed, his nurses and office staff were very nice and very accomodating to my needs while I was with them. Personally, I have no complaints about the treatment that I received from Dr. McKane and His staff and I would refer any one that mentioned this surgery to him, aftercare from the surgery was very important to Dr. Mckane and he was with me every step of the way, He also addressed the risks of the surgery to me in a very clear and easy to understand way. I would rate Dr. McKane as one of the best surgeons or Doctors that I had ever been to, and to me both surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important and should be to any patient even considering this surgery, on this subject Dr. McKane and his staff have surpassed my highest expectations.

AT FIRST I WAS NOT GOING TO GO THROUGH THE SURGERY BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID. BUT THEN I THOUGHT IT OVER AND THAY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE MORE TROUBLE IF I DID NOT GO THROUGH IT. MY SUGAR WAS REALLY HIGH AND THEY TRYED EVERTHING TO GET IT DOWN BUT NOTHING WOULD WORK.IT RAN OVER 400 EVERYDAY AND IT WOULD NOT GO DOWN AT ALL. I WAS IN A WHEEL CHAIR AND USEING A WALKER BUT I AM NOT USEING THEM RIGHT THIS TIME. I NERVIS IN MY FEET AND HANDS ARE REALLY BAD BUT SENTS I HAD THE SURGERY DONE I HAVE A CHANGES OF IT NOT GETTING WORSE. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD NOT GET RID OF IT BUT IT WILL HELP NOT LETTING IT GET WORSE. AND I HAVE HEART TROUBLE THAT IS DOING GOOD I HAVE TO GO THROUGH STRESS TEST IN JUNE OF THIS YEARS TO SEE HOW MY HEART IS DOING. I WAS OIN 20 SOME PILLS ADAY NOT I AM ON 6 ADAY THAT IS GREAT FOR ME. I WAS ON 2 70/30 INSLIN A DAY AND BETWEEN TIME I WAS TAKING 6 OR MORE INSLIN R A DAY. NOW I AM ON A SCALE I ONLY TAKE SHOTS WHEN I AM OVER 150 I DO NOT TAKE ANY INSLIN THAT MUCH I AM LUCKY IF I TAKE ONE EVERY 3 OR MORE MONTH. I AM ON A STAND STILL RIGT NOW AND I WOSH MORE WEIGHT WOULD GO DOWN. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME BECAUSE OF MY AGE IT STILL WOULD BE A LITTLE HARD BUT I KNOW I WILL LOSE MORE AS THE MONTH'S GOSE BYE. I REALLY LIKED THE DOCTOR WHO DID ME AND HE IS A GREAT DOCTOR AND HE SAID HE KNOWS I CAN DO IT AND I DO BELEAVE IN WHAT HE SAID. HE HAS A GOOD BEDSIDE MANNERS. HE REALLY MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT EVERYTHING. HE TELLS YOU EVERYTHING FROM FROUNT AND BACK. I WILL HAVE TO HAVE MY TUMMY DONE BUT WE WAS TOLD THAT THE INC. MAY NOT COVER IT. AND MY INNER LAGS AND DRUPY AND MY TUMMY IS SAGIN AND MY ARMS ARE REALLY SAGIN ALOT TOO. I AM PRAYING THAT I CAN HAVE IT ALL DONE. I REALY DO NEED IT DONE.

I liked Dr. McKane from the beginning. He was frank and upfront and very honest. My impression of him only improved over time. He also has a great sense of humor and made me feel very comfortable. Office staff was also very friendly and comforting. I love those guys! His patients should know that he shoots from the hip and tells it like it is. He'll answer any question you have. They empahsize aftercare a great deal. I never felt "abandoned" after the surgery. The dietary aftercare was great too.
He gave me all the stats for the risks of surgery and also the risks for my own case...very clear. I'd rate Dr.McKane and the whole experience a 10+++++!

Dr.McKane was very straight forward on this surgery and what to expect. He told me the problems that could accure and he actually tried to scare me and then when I went to leave he told me to think about it and if I decided to do this then contact his office, my reply to him was,"There is nothing you could say to scare me, I am ready and I want to go on with the proceedure"
My impression of Dr.McKane only got better over time, I was waiting in the little room off the OR, and he came out and talked to me made sure I was ok, and to see if I needed anything, he also spoke to my family and let them know that I would be going in soon.
The office staff is just wonderful, Peggy, was the one I was mostly in contact with and she is just wonderful, understanding, and caring.
I would recommend Dr.McKane and his staff, to anyone who is considering surgery.

Dr McKane is a very friendly and professional surgeon. His staff was very helpful getting through this operation,keeping in touch with me all during the insurance approval. This doctor has a very structured after care program. He also sets aside one appointment in his office just for the risks and down sides of this surgery. Both him and his staff have been wonderful during this journey.

I really liked as he was very straight forward and understood that I was a emotional eater and did not want to live this way anymore as I have sleep apnea, diabetes, GERD, COPD, and just poor quality of life. My impression stayed the same through the whole process. I was pleased he has been so direct and very patient with all my many questions and understands I am also scared. I told him I want to be a good wife and mother and I feel I cannot be either of those in this body and he did not make me feel like a loser like other people have.

His office staff is great, especially Peggy. It has been a long journey as I started the process February 14, 2004 and finally got a approval from my insurance company and the earliest date they had for surgery is January 6, 2005. My insurance company which is Loomis, Inc. have been ridiculous through the process and were not willing to budge even an inch, but through Peggy's and my persistence they finally approved me.

I am very glad about the follow-up care I will receive postop and I am relieved Dr. McKane and Peggy were very thorough about the risks involved of surgery.

I would definitely rate them a 10 across this board at this point of my journey and I will definitely say surgical competence and bedside manner are very important to me.

My first impression of Dr. McKane was he was straight forward didnt hide anything.
Dr. McKane is a wonderful Dr. and I would recommend him and his staff to anyone who was considering this surgery. Dr.McKane has the best office staff, they get to know you on a one on one basis,they get to know your family, during dietian classes your family was invited to join you in every aspect of your journey. If you didnt have support than they would give it to you.
Dr. McKane is a 10 on a scale of 1-10 I cant say enough about him and his staff.

Very Informed and Knoweledgable.

The very last meeting I had with him before operation I comunicated with him that my employeer may be going out of buissness and he remarked that's to bad they had good insurance. I think i was just overly sensative I was only hours away the operation.

I met with Dr.McKane on aug. 5. My first impression was he is very caring. He explained everything about the surgery. I would reccomend him to anyone. His staff is a ten!!! So nice.
