I had dozens of questions about weight loss surgery I did hours of research. I had a coworker that went to The Weight Loss Institute of Arizona (WLIA) and had told me great things. I called and got an appointment right away to get in and discuss my options. Dr. Orris and his team walked me through the entire process. From my PreOp Diet, to the day of surgery, and to the present - 2 years later and 90 pounds down! I have nothing negative to say about WLIA and their team. Do yourself a favor and give them a call. They can help with any questions you have. Remember it is a process, its not overnight weight loss. We are here to get healthy and active. Make sure you go to a support group when you need extra motivation!
Dr Orris and his staff are great. You receive personal attention at each visit from the dietitian as well as the doctor. Very supportive place. I recommend WLIA and Dr Orris to anyone wanting to lose their weight forever.

Just had my pre-op appt and got my surgery date. My appt went smooth, I felt very well informed from the staff and Dr. Orris. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, my nervous do settle when I think about whom I choose to do my lapband, WLIA. I'm confidant in Dr. Orris and the staff at WLIA. I am so ready to continue my journey to a healthier me.
I began my journey with WLIA in August and feel great about how quickly things are moving as in appointment set ups. At my very first appt I was nervous but happy that I made the decision to go with WLIA in lou of other weight loss centers. Dr. Orris is a well know established surgeon and I am pleased I chose WLIA. The staff made me feel at place, very comfortable and they are very thorough explaining everything to you. I am so very excited for the coming months that will lead to a healthier me.
I have decided on getting the lap band. My Dr referred me to WLIA. I faxed over my Dr's referral. they called me back to tell me they would check with my insurance to see what coverage I had and then call me to make an apt. They did just that.
At the apt they go over everything with you and you decide if you want to continue or go home and think about it. I already had my mind made up so I continued the apt. It was over an hour. They go over everything right there. Tell you what you need to do and what future appointments you will have to make. They were very friendly and Dr Orris was informative.
From the first phone call to the first consultation I was very impressed with the entire staff. Both Dr. DeBarros and Dr. Orris are fabulous! It is very organized and I felt very comfortable. They are great at answering any questions I have and never make me feel dumb. I'm excited to continue this journey and post updates as they come.
I am so excited for surgery. It is only 48 hours away! The Team has been great getting my prepared both physically and mentally. Here's to the new me!!
My experience at the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona has been great. The staff and Drs have been informative and caring. I would recommend them to anyone looking into Lap Band surgery.

Dr. Orris and his staff (Nurse Bekah, Anesthesiologist Dr. Azadeh, Ann Marie, Mike the Nutritionist, Dr. Richardson and everyone else there) are very friendly & professional. Dr. Orris removed a Silastic band that had eroded thru from my gastric bypass. Feeling much better since! Thanks for all you guys at WLIA do!! Andy
Dr. Orris is a very dedicated physician and has the interest of his patients as his number one concern. The staff works to keep your records in order so that all the requirements are met with insurance companies. Your comfort and success is important to them and they are ready to answer any questions you may have regarding pre and post surgery issues.
